CRT, Akershus, or Park Fare?

We went to Akershus last year in October and am trying to decide which one to do for our upcoming trip? I loved Akershus and don't have any problems going back, I just wasn't sure if we should try something new this time around?

Is CRT worth 2 dining credits? Or is it just the mere fact that we are eating in the castle?

Thanks!

The experience of eating in the Castle is great and everyone should do it at least once, if you are talking about dinner I would go with Park Fare, I really enjoy the Buffet and the Step Sisters are great entertainment but if you are talking about Breakfast you can't beat starting a day in MK at the Castle (you could also do Crystal Palace which is a great breakfast buffet but only 1 TS).
If you do chose the Castle you could consider paying OOP for it, so as to not lose 2 credits.

I like Park Fare for breakfast, CRT for lunch (dinner takes too long), Akershus for lunch or dinner.
For breakfast in MK, I love Crystal Palace.

If you do CRT, go OOP. 2 credits aren't worth it. There are much better 1 credit places for food quality, like Ohana and Le Cellier.

Just got back from doing all three which all happened to be breakfast...only one I would repeat again is Akserhaus. Castle was ok..but certainly not worth 2 credits....it was something we wanted to try but would not do again. Service lacked. Seem hurried. Park Fare was good food...but seemed hectic. Akserhaus...the food and service was top notch and the pictures was a great momento.

Akershus is one of our favorite character breakfast buffets, and a must do most every trip. This will be the first year we are going there after 4 years in a row. But, we substituted CRT. Are you doing breakfast or dinner? We have had the breakfast before and while I thought food at CRT was better, DW likes CRT breakfast better. And yes, eating at the castle, especially if you are luck enough to get a window view as well as see MK from the castle, is really cool (unless the early morning sun is in your eyes, then ehhh...). We are trying CRT for dinner this trip. If you are going for breakfast and on regular DP, then I would pay OOP and save your credits. If you are going for dinner, then I think that the cost would be more comparable with the 2 credits. Or, you could consider DxDP and include more signature dining or dinner shows that are fun. The show at Park Fare (Cinderella step-sisters in the evening and Alice and Mad Hatter for breakfast), but the food is average, or perhaps a little sub-par. The food has declined over the years at Park Fare.

We went to CRT for lunch, paid OOP, and felt that it was worth every penny..we even left an extra $20 tip! :rotfl: We highly recommend it, and thought that the experience and the food were both exceptional.

I consider Akershus as the castle to all the princesses, and my son loves the ladies we go to the PSB at least twice each visit, it is worth the 1TS credit and more, I am doing the Deluxe plan this year and dont know if I will do CRT, but I know that we are going to do PSB twice. If you are looking for Cinderella, 1900 Park Fare dinner is a pretty great choice we go here every year but this year we will do 1900 Park Fare for breakfast, My son loved the Alice and Wonderland movie and I hope he doesnt be to disappointed to find that the mad hatter doesnt have red hair and pale skin and wont be fudderwakin and I am sure I didnt spell it right but you guys know the dance that the mad hatter does in the new movie:laughing:

We've done the castle, but didn't feel the food was anything extra special. You get a similar feel at Akershus and see the same princesses, plus the photo package comes along w/ the Akershus meal also. In our opinion, CRT is not worth the two meal credits it costs. We ate at 1900 PF this last week and loved it. If you've already done Akershus, I'd give 1900 PF a try. I will definitely return to 1900 PF and Akershus, but won't pay the extra table credit to go to CRT again.

We have all 3 booked for our Nov. trip...Akershus for breakfast, CRT for lunch on DD's 3rd B-Day and Park Fare for Dinner. We have done all of these meals before and liked them all for different reasons. We have paid OOP for CRT the past 2 times, and love the break mid-day in the park...not to mention the food is so yummy! Park Fare dinner was great in 2008...both the food and the character interaction (we also did the breakfast that trip and enjoyed it as well). We did Akershus breakfast in 2006 and really enjoyed it. We skipped it in 2008 for no other reason than we wanted to try some other TS meals (like the Park Fare BF and Dinner). This year we are adding it back in, mainly because we think DD who is turning 3 will really enjoy it.

What princesses do you meet at CRT vs. The other 2? I like the tip of scheduling CRT for lunch for the mid day break in the park.

After visitin all 3, I would have to vote for 1900 Park Fare. I thought the service was lacking at CRT (which may have been isolated to us but it makes me not want to go back. And I'm not sure it's worth 2 TS credits). Akershus' menu was not stand out to me, and we absolutely love the interaction with the Step Sisters at 1900 PF. And I thought it had the best overall food.

CRT has Cinderella in the castle entrance for pictures, but she does not come to the table. CRT had Aurora, Snow White, Jasmine, Mary Poppins (once), and Belle (blue/white dress). At Akershus breakfast, Belle is in her Yellow dress for pictures at the entrance, but does not come to the table. Akershus has had Mulan, Jasmine, Ariel (w/ feet), Aurora, Snow White, although Mulan and Ariel weren't there the same year. At Park Fare breakfast, there are no princesses - Alice and Mad Hatter, Pooh, Tigger, and Mary Poppins. For Park Fare Dinner, it is Cinderella, Prince Charming, Step-mother, and 2 step-sisters.

I'm trying to decide between these three princess meals as well. It's great to hear everyone's thoughts but wow am I indecisive! :confused3 I think the kids will like any of them. I'm probably the only one who would find it exciting to eat in the castle as the last time I was in WDW there was absolutely nothing in the castle and it was rather disappointing. Good food for thought everyone!
