Crsppy, cruddy, near useless new guidebook

However, I don't see anything wrong with the small rooms and loooooooooooonng hallways at BWVs either.
What do I know??!! :p

according to my flimsy slimsy planner it states we do get t,t & t even if we are paying members cash discount and it does state we get coffee/suger/creamer on t,t & t day.

wdwstar......that would be me! Im just a procedural type of person and would not hesitate to show them the verbage.

I haven't received my flimsy slimsy planner yet but can anyone tell me if it will fit in my Passporter? That would be a plus!

its about an 1/8 inch all around bigger then the bonded member guidebook, except about 128 pages less then the members guidebook, thats why its so flimsy, slimsy. hope that helps:sunny:

Nope, sorry- It's bigger than the passporter.

I think Passporter should branch out and create the Passporter for the DVC member! I also wish they could get them out in December, since I can never get one on time to plan my mid January vacations!

I have to chime in with those that like it. All I ever wanted in it was the point chart, I get most of the other info - pictures, room layouts, etc on the internet.

I prefer the old binder because it's easier to just replace the pages but I can see that some people would not do that & there would be confusion. I just wish they would update the system somehow so we would not get everything in triplicate. (We have 3 contracts). I wonder how much money they waste on printing & postage because of that.

We have to admit, when we heard about the smaller planner that was coming, we were disappointed. We enjoyed looking through the past couple of full guidebooks quite a bit.

Having received it, though, we are happy. The big problem with the full guidebooks (not the ringed binders, though, which we never had and sound like the best!) is that they seem to fall apart easily; at least our first one sure did. When we received our second one, we were anxious to look at it and plan with it, but felt like we had to treat it with such kid gloves! The new planner, though, contains all the updated information but is small enough that it is stapled, not "bound", so it should be more user friendly.

As long as DVC sends out new full guidebooks every few years with updated information (maybe each time a new DVC resort opens), then we think the smaller planner is a good idea.

Face it there will always be people who love something new/different and those that will hate it. Some will look for a Disney conspiracy in every change and those that will complain about them.

If the info is available web-based and the new owners, or those who may not have web access, get or can request the complete version, where's the harm?

Personally the change makes sense to me if financially it helps to control dues. I like the change, it works for me.

I LOVE my old binder! In fact, It is all worn out! I have kept all the information from day one in it, and have used it constantly. I love the planner pages in it, but they are now full, so I have put the new planner inside my old ring binder! I just wish I could get a new ring binder! Anyone have one they don't use?

I, too, love the old binder!

The next one fell apart, last year's stayed in pretty good shape, but this one came with the middle pages detached! Oh, Well! LOL
There's always next year!

Guess I saved DVC some $$$ with my "broken-down" planner!:p
