Crowne Plaza I Drive

Has anyone booked to go to this hotel? I've been trying through Virgin and no matter what date I put in, it says it is unavailable. I've also rung Virgin directly and everything was going fine until the girl input the hotel and was told it was unavailable. She didn't know why. Does anyone know whether Virging have dropped this hotel (or the hotel has dropped Virgin)?

Being a popular hotel for conventions, the hotel does impose quite a few 'closeouts' - even though they may have plenty of availability - in anticipation of receiving high-yield convention business. Other operators should also have allocations there, so look around.

Apparently due to contractural issues the Crowne Plaza is not available through Virgin Holidays. This might be a temporary problem, or as in the case with the Rosen Centre it might just not be available ever again.

I booked last year with VH for the CP and am going in June, but I think when the new brochure comes out in May it won't be in there.

Such a shame. That means now that two of the best I Drive hotels are not available through the UK's biggest Orlando tour operator.

I suppose the question has to be asked, why can't they get it when others can? It's in other brochures, and for 2006.

Just been on the Virgin Website. It appears they have finally updated it and the Crowne Plaza is no longer listed.

This means all my planning is now out of the window unless I go through another tour operator - but then I lose the benefit of my Virgin Frequent Flyer.

Any ideas? I did think about the Renaissance Seaworld, but you know what its like when you set your heart on something.

Why don't you book the flights as intended, then book the accommodation with another operator?

I have looked at doing that. Unfortunately, it increases the price of the holiday by a large amount
