Crown_Princess and Angrypenguin DFTW 03/30/2009-7/24 Update, MGM studios!

PS Count down: 28 Days!

I'm so excited that it is finally October! This is the month that we've been looking forward to since our Valentine's Day engagement - the month of our planning session! We're only having a small wedding, but that doesn't change the excitement. :cool1:

We are going to wake up early, and perhaps grab a quick breakfast. Kevin will have to find something entertaining, as I will be getting my hair and makeup trial at 9am. ;)

Then it's off to engagement pics with Randy Chapman at the Boardwalk and Polynesian Resort, followed by lunch at Captain Cook's Snack Co - a counter service at Polynesian. :cool2:

Next, we walk to Frank's for our PS. Topics naturally include cakes, flowers, food, transportation, logistics, placecard/favors,and our Epcot Dessert Party. :lovestruc

"Take a deep breath and don't get too excited," is what I will be thinking, as we are only about two hours away from Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! But first we need to refuel, so we will head to The Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner.

We'll crash that night and then wake up to Tonga toast at Kona Cafe and hit a park for some fun. :3dglasses

And of course, there will be pictures to entertain when we come back.:wizard:

How exciting! We did our engagement pictures with Randy on the day of our PS too. It was such a wonderful day :goodvibes Don't forget to ask for your cake tasting; that was Kris' favorite part of the session :rotfl:

Sounds like you're packing in a lot of fun that weekend; can't wait to hear all about it!

Birthday Dinner at Napa Rose: Disneyland

For my birthday, DF tooke me to the Napa Rose at the Grand Californian. The food is amazing, and price accordingly $$$. We have been talking about going there for months. What an absolutely wonderful time we had!

The servers are attentive: clearing plates, bringing food & wine in a clearly orchestrated fashion. If you ever go, splurge and get the Vinter's Table: 3 courses with a wince pairing for each....oh soo lovely.:cloud9: :cloud9:

This being said, our camera died during the walk to the hotel. We did snap a couple pictures as we walked thru downtown Disney. In one store there was an arcade game named Test Your Love. I couldn't resist!

I scored HOT STUFF :rotfl:

The rest were taken on a camera phone...pretty good, huh?

My dessert - I'm blowing out a candle...didn't I do a good job looking cute doing it? hehehehe...rotlf

Bridal Jewelry

I've been kind of doing very little in the way of wedding planning lately. But the Disney FTW jewelry I bought has continued to be my Achilles heel of wedding planning. I keep worrying I picked something too gaudy or not couture enough. Whatever...I'm over it. I tried on the whole set while DF was out, so I wouldn't feel silly, and felt reassured.

Bridal Tea Party Favors

I'm trying to save money for an upcoming expense and married life. But walking thru World Market, I found these for $1 each: beautiful flower candles with their own sand and glass pots to plant them in. I am planning on having a bridal tea party at GF Garden View Tea Lounge the day before the wedding, so I bought one for each of my guests. Three different flowers, eight total. The white one is for my mom, since I want her to be special.

The birthday dinner looks wonderful!!!!! Souds like you had fun. I am so loving the flowers for the bridal tea, really cute.

Well, I just read all 12 pages of your PJ, even though I should be studying for an upcoming exam.:rolleyes1

Everything looks great, although your wedding dress pics are no longer up. One of the posts from your DF said you would create a link to your dress pics for those of us who are late comers to the PJ. Has he helped you with that yet? I would love to see your dress.

I love Aerosole shoes. I hope they match your dress, b/c they looked perfect to me, and you will be so happy if your feet are happy.

Your trip to WDW in Oct sounds fantastic. We all can't wait for those pics!

Now I am officially on board! not just a lurker.

:thumbsup2 Happy Birthday Too! Your night looked special.

Just wanted to wish you good luck with the PS and hair trial!!!

We'll be there around the same time...
See you around!!

Glad you had such a great birthday dinner!!! I really want to eat there on our next trip. But- it always looks closed!!! Your planning session is going to be so much fun!! Be well rested- I was so exhausted I hardly remember it.

It sounds like you had a wonderful birthday dinner! You jewerly looks beautiful on you, you made a great choice!

Hi honey!:wave2:
Hi, sweet-ums. :lovestruc

 FUN! So glad your PS is so close. Your agenda sounds great! :cloud9:

I hope so! I hope we don't get too tired!

Sounds like you have a perfect day planned :lovestruc :goodvibes I'll be looking for those pics!!

Oh, I will have you in mind...DF will be tired of me being a shutterbug.:goodvibes

hehe...a couple days ago DF asked "So we get to do a cake tasting, right?!"
:lmao:

Your PS tirp sounds great and in only 28 days!! :cool1: I can't wait to hear all about it!
Wow you are so organized!!! Can't wait to see pictures.

:cool1: :cool1:
I know you'll be watching! I'm so glad too. It's nice to be able to share this experience.

The birthday dinner looks wonderful!!!!! Souds like you had fun. I am so loving the flowers for the bridal tea, really cute.

Thanks! I think it will be something to make the tea seem more bridal-ish. I'm not having a shower...unless my mom has something up her sleeve at xmas time. But she's not really one to do that.

Yay!! I love that you are reading! I am glad I chose a non-bridal shoe.
I think it will pay off.

DF did not help make the link yet. He told me how, but it ended up being a link to our WHOLE photobucket, which felt unnerving.
I will get new dress pics soon and post somehow.

:thumbsup2 Happy Birthday Too! Your night looked special.

Poke your head in, b/c the front part is a lounge, so there usually aren't allot of people in there. The restaurant is in the back portion.

It sounds like you had a wonderful birthday dinner! You jewerly looks beautiful on you, you made a great choice!

Thank you for the reassurance. I was thinking about your vote of confidence on the way to work today. That might sound silly to some, but those of us who rely on these boards know that the support really makes a difference.

MY DRESS IS IN!! :scared1:

I got the call at work today that my wedding gown is in to the bridal shop. However, I have been waiting since, what March?? It's been so long I'm not even sure anymore. I would have to go back and look at the receipt or this PJ. :rotfl:

So yeah. Lots of drama:

I thought I was in for a calm month of frugile living, trying to save money for our PS this month.

WRONG!!

Now I'm getting bonding done on my teeth ASAP because I've been debating dental work since we got engaged....or longer. DF is tired of hearing about it.
:lmao:
I can't afford veneers so bonding is my temporary fix. I'm getting the top front six or four done.
I think some might think it is just vanity, but it's something that has bothered me for a long time, and I'm not just doing it for the wedding.

Then I get the call about my dress today = another expense.:scared1:
I think I will save myself some stress and go pick it up next weekend instead of this weekend. I'm so tired and stressed out about everything else going on: wedding planning, the forth coming PS, going to family weddings, teeth, starting married life, planning the honeymoon....the list goes on. I think picking up my dress should be something special and I don't want to be feeling freakishly stressed when I do it.

Bottom line: weddings are expensive. So is life.
No revelation there. :rolleyes1

YaY! For the dress coming in!!! I don't think I could wait a whole week after knowing it is in to go get it! I do understand the cost and all I'm just a very impatient kinda girl! How long does it take to get the bonding done on your teeth/how long does it last?

OMG My dress just came in yesterday too but I couldn't wait I went and picked it up on my lunch break yesterday! :rotfl: Reminder :I need to post pics over on my PJ!

Anyway try not to stress too much, everything always works out and going to pick up your dress will wash all that stress away! At least it did for me!

I completley agree, the support here is really great to get you through those stressful times when planning! Anytime you need it let me know! :goodvibes

I was just catching up on your PJ - everything sounds wonderful! I wanted to comment because I actually did bonding before our wedding too and it was perfect! I didn't like how my teeth looked anyway and when I saw the pictures from my bridal shower all I could think was how there was no way I was going to have my teeth look that bad on my wedding day :sad2: My dentist had me do Crest White Strips first and matched the bonding to how they looked after the White Strips. He also billed it sort of as replacement fillings, so it wasn't quite as pricey. It was done 3 years ago and still holding up great (although I need to do the White Strips again)! I'd like to get braces (I'm thinking the Invisalign) but I don't want to spend the nearly $6k I was quoted for those! Anyway, just wanted to say it's not vanity and so what if it is - if it will make you feel better about your smile - go for it :thumbsup2

Congrats and Best Wishes!!

HI
I just wanted to chime in here about the Invisalign. My DH got them while we were dating, and after marriage. He believes they were more than worth the investment. He paid it off monthly, so it wasn't as big a hit cost wise. Whenever he needed to take the Invisalign off (like our wedding day) he could, and they did a great job straightening his teeth.

They are more expensive than traditional braces, but they have so many positives like being clear, being removable, not hurting as much, etc. $6k (or whatever others charge) is a big chunk initially, but you have your smile FOREVER!:bitelip:

Yeah, I'm trying to decide if I can wait a week. I told the shop I would call this morning and let them know if I need to reschedule. I'm sort of on my woman time and that makes me feel self-conscious naked. TMI, I know!! :rotfl: :lmao:

I'm thinking that might be the case, that it would be nice. Stupid bridal shop, didn't tell me up front that they don't carry the skirt, bra, and veil in stock. I noticed in my planner it said to order them this month, and I was like :scared1:  , "how could I forget that?" So now when I go get my dress I will have to order more stuff, and wait longer to get it. Can't leave the dress there until they get it, to try it all on together, bc they have this stupid rule that if you don't take your dress 30 days after it comes in, they return it to stock without refunding the 50% deposit! So I'm going to go get the dress, order everything, but there is no way I'm driving 1.5 hr thru LA traffic to pick up those items - they will have to be shipped (although that scares me bc I think they will mess up the order). I wouldn't order them from that store if it weren't for the 300 dollar store credit I negotiated with them. So...yeah, sorry for the rant.;)

Thank you!!! I love the encouragement. I am a tad nervous. Yesterday I went in for the "wax ups." They did it over kill: three sets of impressions, a 3D x-ray, and photographs of my teeth. Ugh. It was torture, mainly because I wanted to get back to work.

Yeah, I think I might go back and do it when the bonding starts to wear down - so like 5 years. I don't smoke, drink dark soda, or drink allot of wine. So they should look nice for a while. :goodvibes
