We have only gone to WDW during Oct/Nov/March/April, but due to school schedules, we may have to go after school is out in early June. How are the crowds & is it really hot/humid? We've been so spoiled in the past 5 years. Suggestions/comments

Yes when our kids where in school we had to go in June, all I can say is hot humid and very crowded thats June to me, so im glad the kids grew up and we can now go in the cooler months. :cool1:

Well, I was just in WDW from June 1 - June 9, 2006. (Pop Century *shudders* - oh, what life was like BEFORE DVC!!!) We didn't find it very crowded and it was certainly cooler than in July.

I would definately visit in June. You can book during Dream season if you go before June 10, so you use fewer points. Also, all WDW theme parks have extended hours, more shows, parades, etc.

Rain, rain, rain. I was there early June last year and it rained daily. Not just the brief afternoon T-shower, but a near-constant drizzle to downpour. Except our last day. It was bright and sunny then!

We were there June 8-18 and found the crowds to be manageable, certainly less croweded than late July or early August. In fact, we didn't think it was any more crowded than 2 previous trips taken during "Jersey Week" in November.

It did rain considerable for parts of 2 days but we went to the parks anyway. This was our first trip during this time of year and we would definitely go in early June for some of our future trips.

We've been during that time and found the weather to be typical of Florida summers....hot and humid. :sunny: If you've only gone during cooler seasons, I wouldn't underestimate the impact of this on your daily plans. We enjoy going during the summer (unlike many others) but know that we need to drink a lot of water, use lots of sunblock and take it easy when touring the parks.

As for crowds, depending on the calendar there is a large event in WDW called Gay Days. I think it's the weekend after Memorial Day so that would probably be June 1-3. I only mention it because we've been there at that time and we found the parks to be quite crowded, especially on that weekend.

I've been at that time and it is hot. I went this year the last week of June and the crowds were larger than early June. We had a rain shower though every afternoon which cooled things down and thinned crowds. As others have said if you aren't accustomed to dealing with heat take common sense precautions. I'm from Alabama so I know heat. Stay hydrated, try to alternate with indoor air conditioned and outdoor attractions and if it gets too hot go back to the room for a nap or swim and return later when it is cooler. We usually go to the parks early do the major attractions, have lunch at a table service well air conditioned restaurant and then decide what to do with the rest of the day..

Which would you say is more crowded: June before the 10th, or August after the 12th?

I've been in August and am considering June for next year. Thanks.

It's mostly a guess on my part, but I would think that June before the 10th is more crowded than August after the 12th.

Lots of schools let out in late May. and start back up in mid-August. I'd have to think that people are more anxious to go to WDW right after school lets out than they are just before they return to school

That's my non-statistical guess anyway!

I was just there June 6-9th and I thought I would die. It was in the upper 90's every day and HUMID! We couldn't take the parks in the afternoons at all. The crowds weren't that bad, but it was so hot and sticky that you just didn't feel like doing anything.
I have two visits scheduled in November and December and we put everything off-"oh, it's too hot to do that, we'll do that in November or December"
That is one of the nice things about being a DVC person, going frequently enough that you're not trying to do everything in one week.

Well, we went in May - 18th-24th - and it was in the mid 90's (even set a record one day) the whole trip. We were sooooooo hot! Unbelieveably. And it only sprinkled one afternoon while we were there.

So, I've decided that you just need to be prepared to deal with heat from May 1 through September 30th, and if you luck out and get a cool spell while you are there, well that's a bonus.
