Crowds this week

My family (6 of us) are planning on spending a 2 days at US/IOA (first visit) this coming week. We are thinking of going Thursday Jan. 6 and Friday Jan. 7. Would we be wise to spend the Thursday and Friday or the the weekend there? Which days will be the least crowded? Thanks in advance,
