Crowds this coming summer?

Hi Everyone! It's been about two years since I last visited the Disboards :) I'm happy to be back.

We have happily stumbled upon some extra money and are in the early stages of planning a trip for August.

I'm just wondering a few things:

1) How are crowds this year? I know it is still the 60th Anniversary celebration… so are things crazy this year, or are they fairly typical? I was in Disneyland a year after the 50th Celebration and I don't remember it being too insane… thoughts?

(*Edit: Keep in mind that as a teacher I have only ever travelled during peak seasons, and I tend to have the attitude of "it's Disneyland, it's supposed to be busy". lol)

2) Will the PTN parade and the 60th Anniversary fireworks show still be on this summer? I really want to see them, especially since there is no Fantasmic this year…

3) I see that Tom Sawyer's Island, the River Boats and the Train are out of commission this year, but there is some new stuff with HyperSpace Mountain… still worth it?

4) I see that Aladdin is gone :( So sad. I loved Aladdin… but they have a musical Frozen show in the works… I LOVED Aladdin, but if I know Disney the new show will probably be spectacular, and my boy (5) and my daughter (3) both love Frozen… will it be ready by the end of the summer do you think?

In general crowds have been increasing from year-to-year, so I would go expecting higher crowds than what you experienced 2 years ago.

They haven't said anything officially, but it seems highly likely that both PtN and Disneyland Forever will continue to be presented for the foreseeable future. The 60th Anniversary is slated to run through September 5 (Labor Day), so those shows (along with WoC: Celebrate) will likely be presented at least through then. My guess is that all three shows will be around in some capacity for years.

I liked HyperSpace Mountain, but the basic ride itself is the same. So if you like Star Wars and you like Space Mountain, there is a good chance you'll like HyperSpace Mountain. (Note that they have not announced an end date for the HyperSpace Mtn overlay.)

They announced that the new Frozen musical at the Hyperion will open on May 27.
