Hi. I was wondering if someone could give me an honest opinion about the crowd level the week of Thanksgiving. We have been to Disney many times in the summer. How do the crowds compare to June or August? We want to try a different time of year but don't want the kids to miss too much school. Any thoughts would be appreciated. :flower:

It starts getting crowded the weekend before Thanksgiving and gets more crowded each day until the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.

Thanksgiving itself is more crowded than June or early August (late August is quite manageable). Earlier Thanksgiving week is not as bad as Thanksgiving Wednesday through Sunday.

Woody5 - We were there last Thanksgiving. We checked in on Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving, went to Chef Mickeys for dinner about 9pm and walked to the MK after. The MK was open until midnight. When we got there about 10 it was walk on for everything we wanted to do. I could not believe it. The MK was open until 12am every night and we would go late and sleep in in the mornings. Epcot got crowded, but not too horribly. We just returned yesterday from a trip and Epcot wasn't as crowded as the Thanksgiving week. MGM was very crowded during that Tday week.

On Thanksgiving, we rented a boat, surrey bikes, had a great late lunch, hung out, swam, and then went to the MK about 8pm. We headed to Adventure land, walked on the Jungle Cruise, Alladins carpets, Pirates. It was better than I expected for sure!

We did the first Xmas party and it was so crowded it was a bust. We stayed until the Tuesday after and MGM was very light on that day. Weather was gorgeous. We planned other activites and tried to stay away from the parks during the day. I would go again during that week, but make plans and ADRs in advance. It is great to see the beautiful Xmas decorations in the parks and resorts.

Have fun & happy planning!
