Woohoo! We are going to WDW the first 2 weeks of June. It has been so long since we've been there (we got hooked on DCL) that I have so much to re-learn before this trip. We have reservations at the all new Shades of Green for 12 nights. Any suggestions from anyone on Ticket options.

Bumping this back to page one for you

I'm going on the 12th for 10 days. I avoided the first week of June due to the "Gay Days" at DW. I have a 7, 5, 3 year old and don't feel like answering those questions yet. Not sure how that event will affect the size of the crowds.

This year we were there from June 11-16. The crowds weren't light, but they weren't heavy either. We managed to to everything we wanted in the parks is minimal hassle. However, there were several people here that reported that the summer traffic floodgates opened up a few days after we departed. We got the impression that a lot of people decided to wait a period of time after school got out to come down to WDW.

We were there June 1-7 this year and had a great time. The crowds were no problem. We used fast pass whenever we could and never waited in lines at all.

The weather was great. We had one afternoon that was completely lost to thunderstorms, but we needed a rest anyway.

No problems with "Gay Days" at all. We did not go to MK on its designated day, but we could not even tell anything was going on at the other parks.

It sounds like the crowds will be just where we want them. We will be arriving on 6/3 and I was hoping that we would miss part of the summer crowds by going so early. We've always gone completely off season. And, I just booked at SOG a few weeks ago and had no problems getting the dates I wanted, so I was hoping it was a good indication of the crowds.
Thanks again for your responses.

It is not bad at all. I take my son out of school the last week in may (it's the end of the school year. He misses the last 2 days) It is great. I didn't want to be ther during Gay Days, so moved to the week before. We saw a little evidence of it this past summer. While at DTD, and in the parks, but our kids did not notice it. We were gone before they really got started. You'll love it, but it does tend to get a little warm:sunny:

We'll be there May 28-June 7 at SOG as well. Hope the place is finished by then! I guess they've moved the reopening for the end of March now (used to be the end of this year). Nothing wrong with the Contemporary, however . . .

Hope the crowds aren't too bad, and that the park is open lots of hours!

maybe we will run into you.
I have Boy/Girl Twins that will be 16 and my husband and I. Have you stayed at SOG previously. We loved it. I actually had reservations last year for the Contemporary but we did another Disney Cruise instead. Can't wait to go. It will be our first ever Summer trip. We are also thinking about throwing a 3 night cruise in during this trip.

Hi Patty!

That 3 day cruise sounds fun. We're 5 adults (sister, her husband, sister-in-law, DH and I), plus 5 kids (2-14, 1-13, 1-11, 1-7), so should have a great mix, and the youngest should be able to go all day without too much whining. We'll be there 5-28 through 6-7, which should give us time to see most everything. Sounds like others have seen less crowds during this time, except for Mem. Day weekend.

Any suggestions for what to do at the parks on those three days, when it will be busiest? We'll be freshly arrived, so I imagine will be roped into MK right off, crowds included!

Haven't stayed at SOG, although it sounds great. Got park passes there a few years ago on a 3-day whirl (stayed at Dixie Landings), but didn't really see the place.

Also had no problem booking 3 rooms at SOG. Of course, I'm compulsive and called one year in advance! :)

Here's hoping they don't activate DH in between then!

SOG is wonderful, and by the looks of the plans it will be even more so. We walk from SOG to the Poly and catch the monorail to Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. We tried to stay at SOG a second time and got sent to CBR. We were so disappointed.
You'll have a blast!
