Crowds/Resort prices?

I'm debating on when to go as, i'd like to go during a non peak season for the resorts as well as i'm worried about the crowds and how busy the restaurants etc will be. What would be the best time of the year to go?
I was considering either may, november, august or perhaps april.

We'll be staying from 14 days to possibly up to 18-20 days.
We plan on staying at AKL/BWI and maybe a short 4 day stay at poly concierge Just a note it'll be just BF and me so if it's decently crowded we should be allrite

Most of April is crowded with spring vacation visits and can be very crowded. I think one of the traditional slow times is after Thanksgiving, up to Christmas.
