Crowds on July 4th?

We are planning to visit WDW from June 30-July 9. Now we're starting to become concerned about the crowds on/around the 4th of July. Has anyone been there then? How busy does it get?

This 4th of July, although crowded, wasn't as crowded as normal. We spent the day @ AK, as MK is nuts, and AK was pretty empty. Our friends said that the 4th wasn't that bad. We were @ MK June 30th, July 1, 2 & 3rd, and it was not crowded at all considering the holiday.

The first two weeks of July this year, have seen very low crowds. We've been coming every July for 10 years for 2 weeks, and have never seen such low crowds from July 1-July 12. We were walking on to rides and into major attractions without any waits. Spoke to many CMs, and they all concurred that it was a slower July. Does this mean it will be like this when you go? Who knows?

I would suggest to plan for another park besides MK on July 4th, as that usually fills up first. We enjoyed AK as it was very quiet!

We went to the MK on the 3rd and enjoyed the fireworks while at a Dessert Party, so we weren't in the crowd. Prior to going for the desserts, we were able to go on some rides, like Aladdin a few times nearly in a row. After the fireworks, however, when we left that area, the place seemed very very crowded, and they led people out of the tomorrowland area by going "behind the scenes." There were many people who stayed and more coming in, (I think MK was opened to 3AM that day!) but it was much more crowded than it had been when we arrived at the MK around 5PM.

On the 4th, Epcot wasn't crowded at all, until nearly fireworks time. I enjoyed the 4th of July special events there, but next year, I'm going to DHS for their fireworks. Epcot's didn't especially wow me as they have for NYE.

DH and I are going back next year!
