We've been traveling to Disney World for the past 15 years but have never been in March. We are going with our 2 sons, (8 and 5), March 12th-19th. I realize it's Spring Break month, but it's the only time we can go this year.
Thanks,
Andrea

We went March 10-16 this year during my college break and crowds were very manageable overall. There was one day around 2 pm that the fantasyland area got very crowded but we decided to go back to the hotel for a while (first time in any of our trips) came back around 6 and stayed til around midnight. It was a great trip!

We went March 23-30th in 2012, which was my kids' spring break for our district, but not the traditional spring break that starts on Good Friday and goes through the week after Easter. (I think Easter was the sunday after we got back, actually). It was fine....it was our first time, and even though we didn't do reservations for TS or fast passes, we did everything we wanted to and the longest wait was about 35 min for Peter Pan. We even went on Haunted Mansion twice.

You can go to EasyWDW.com and find a crowd calendar for 2014. Mid March has levels of 8 out of 10. I think it will be very crowded. You can see that the week prior to that have levels of 4.

We went in April and crowd levels every day were 8s and 9s. As long as you have a good plan, you can manage. We got to the parks early and got a lot done before the crowds arrived. During the night parade one evening, DH & DD got on BTMRR repeatedly.

Another DISer once told me that she prefers nights because of the cooler temps, etc, and that she was able to get a lot done because crowds are thinner near closing time. I prefer to keep my kids on a schedule, though, so we get up early. So, whatever you decide- early or late- just research that strategy and go with the flow. When it started getting crowded, we left to swim in the pool.
