Crowds Mid August w/DP?

What can we expect in the parks~how bad is it going to be come 8/13? Are alot of the kids back to school in the south and does this make an impact on the crowds?

I am wondering too - we are at the GF Aug 15-22 - there are still rooms available at most of the deluxe and moderate resorts. I am hoping that is a good omen for lower crowds!

I think I remember someone posting that schools in Florida start back on Aug. 14. Does anyone know for sure?

We are also wondering the same thing. We will be at WDW from 8/18 - 8/27. Has anyone been there over those dates in the past? We selected the end of August as we thought it might be a little less crowded.

Crowds drop off quite a bit when the southern schools reopen but I'm not sure when that is. We always travel to WDW during the last weeks in August for exactly that reason. I can stand the heat, but I'm way to hyper to take crowds. We went last year 8/22-8/29 and never had to wait more than 30 mins. for any ride. Only used fast pass a few times.

Southern schools start back to school as early as Aug 4th (that us here in N Ga). But the Northern schools are our until Labor day so they will still be on vacation until that time. Just depends where the crowd is coming from.
