I understand that Disney is a complete zoo between Christmas and New Year's, but how long is it still crowded after Jan 1st? DH and I are in the process of planning our next Disney trip and are thinking of arriving on Jan 2nd. Do the parks start clearing out or do a lot of people stay for that first week of January as well?

My in-laws were at WDW over New Years this winter. They said that the days before and during New Years were outrageously crowded and they couldn't do a thing! But crowds were gone on Mon. and Tues. following New Years.

DH and I went the third week of Jan. about 5 years ago -- no lines for anything! We plan to take the kids in mid-to-late January 2006.

My family and I went the second week in Jan.(1-09-05 thru 1-15-05). The crowds were very light. This was our first trip and it was very nice. I think the longest wait we had was 15min. the whole week. I think you will have a great time duing your trip in Jan.

We went in mid-January a couple of years ago and LOVED it! Weather was pretty good and there were absolutely no crowds. If the parks clear out within a day or two after New Year's, I would like to go then in order to capitalize on vacation time off. But if it's still crowded, I'm not sure it would be worth the hassle.
