We just booked a trip from 8/21 - 8/31. What will the crowds be like during that time?? I am debating do I do EMH nites? Or just do EMH mornings? We are only planning on 5 park days, and taking breaks in the afternoons for swimming and naps. The kids are DD 9 and DS 4. This isn't their first trip, we were just there in November, so we won't have to do EVERYTHING.

Any advice??

Thanks :)

Well, generally there is a gradual drop off after about the middle of August. Many children in the SouthEast go back to school by the then and many other families are preparing for school. However, this year, with the free dining option that Disney is offering with their packages, I'd expect it to still be very busy. Probably similar to what we have seen here this June....busier than ususal.

I'd avoid EMH evenings like the plague. They've been very, very crowded and not really a "perk" at all. If you decide to do EMH mornings I'd plan on switching to a park that does not have any EMH by 11am.

We went the last week of August last year and are going again this year. Crowds are very manageable, although some of the more popular rides will have some long waits.

Personally, I doubt the free dining will increase crowds vs. last year as last year we got a similar value with the buy five nights get two nights free promotion.

Waits will tail off toward the end of the week.

Based on everything I've read, the best game plan would be to go to EMH in the AM, but only for a couple of hours and then park hop to another park. Avoid EMH in the PM altogether.
