Hey yall hope everyone is having a good day! I have looked at many crowd calendars and for the most part they say that the first week in September (i think might be the second week in September) is low. I was wondering if anybody has actually been there around this time and could tell me how crowded it would be around the first week or two in September

I either do the first week or two of September or the first week in October. Disney is getting more crowded and there really is not a slow time anymore. but last year (was there just before Irma hit Orlando and the parks were dead.

Yep...we were at OKW for almost two weeks the week after labor day. It was crowded, but I'm not sure how to articulate it with a rating. I would say that having a place of retreat (onsite room/pool) definitely helped re-energize us after competing with the crowds/heat/humidity.

Thank you, I know this sound crazy but I have been looking on the Disney world app and some of the wait times have been all the way up to 240 minutes. My goodness that a long time to wait to get on a ride

Do y'all go often? This is my kids and husband first time ever going. I went when I was a little kid so it has been a long time. We are trying to choose the best time to go.

Yes POF is always a long wait. if you want to find a slow time to go look on Disney website and find when the hotels are cheapest this is when they will be the slowest.

That is brilliant! I should have thought of that myself lol

We are local. Best time depends on many factors (weather, budget, etc.).

If this is your first time going here is some advice.

book your FP for your 3 most do rides in the park ( some parks have tierd FP)

get to the park before they open ( like an hour) sometimes they let you in early.

Use EMH and take a break during the heat of the day if need be. ( early morning and late evenings tend to be less crowded

You will not see and do every thing so do not try ( unless you are there for a month).

It gets hot and humid at Disney in September ( and really most of the year) so drink a lot of water, if you think you have enough drink some more

I wouldn't expect low wait times, but there will be fewer people (it will still feel crowded though). We go last week of Aug (sometimes last 2 weeks of Aug) and first few days of Sep annually. Last year it was WAY more crowded - especially once F&W started. They lifted the FL AP blackout, started F&W in late August and I can't remember what else. This will be our last late Aug - we went b/c lowest crowd time w/out missing school, but its not low enough crowds any longer to be worth the insane heat/humidity (it was over 105 or so "real feel" most of our trip last year). The prices for hotels are good, though.
Oh - keep in mind higher risk of tropical storms etc. during Sep.

I know i'm more than likely going to sound dumb, but what is F&W?

Thank you for the advice!! To be honest when I first started planning my hopes was to see and do everything. After much research I have learned that it just isn't possible. There is much more to do than I ever realized

F and W is food and wine at EPCOT you get samples of foods form different country and they are about $5-7 each

We like going in September. No there’s no dead times anymore but the crowds are manageable. Check out Kenny the Pirate and Touring Plans to help you figure out what you should do when. Coming in with knowledge of what we want to do a rough plan of what we want to accomplish helps us a ton. We aren’t wandering around trying to find a short line to wait in.

Those weeks are some of the best of the year! (week after labor day) I would go then if I could (can't anymore due to schedules). If it's your first time, just keep in mind that even in the slow periods it will feel like the parks are pretty full. Slow times are kinds a thing of the past until another recession or major economic downturn hits.

We love the first week of September but this last September is was unbelievably HOT!! It is always hot in September but it was so much worse than Sept 2016 when we went the same week. We also had to cut our trip short by 3 days and drive home because of Irma. That is the risk we take when we go during hurricane season. We were so upset that we actually booked for November this year instead and we might do Labor Day week again in 2019. Our trip the first week of Sept in 2016 was SO much better than 2017, mainly because F&W didn't start so early, it barely rained, wasn't so brutally hot and wasn't as crowded.

Mid September wasn't bad in 2017, but we did just miss hurricane Irma when we went. Everything recovered quickly though, including the crowds, but it is slightly less busy than other times of the year.

I'm a Northeast transplant who took up residence in Florida over 20 years ago. I will tell you this about the beginning of September: more often than not, it's essentially still as hot as mid-summer (maybe a bit less rain). The first break you get from that heat is toward the end of Sept/beginning of October. Fortunately, crowd levels then are still the some of the lowest you'll find. Even so, it's not unheard of for it to be scorching hot at that time either -it's just like that here. This week, we've seen mid-80's -the second week of February!

We were there the first few days of September last year and it didn't feel like low crowds to us. Wasn't insane, but things weren't walk on. Manageable though. What we hated was the heat and the rain. Now, weather is more of a priority than crowd levels to us.

I assume you are talking before Labor Day. If so, it is still fairly busy then. It is after Labor Day when the crowds drop
