How crowded do you think IOA will be on Mother's Day (May 8)? We can possibly stay on site one night if the crowds will be bad enough for us to need FOTL access, but we had just planned to stay offsite at the Comfort Suites on Major Blvd. Any suggestions/opinions??? Thanks!

That's not usually a crazy busy weekend so you should be OK to stay offsite. Make sure you arrive early to avoid some of the crowds. BTW...Mother's Day is 5/8...5/9 is the Monday after.

I've heard they are supposed to be great. We will be there on the 9th and 10th. Its grad bash that weekend, so I am going to assume the Friday and Saturday might be a little busier, but its supposed to be quieter after that.

See you there!

Personally, we avoid US/IOA on the weekends always during our trips to Orlando. We have been to IOA 3 times since HP openned and have yet to ride FJ. Our last trip was 2 weeks ago. We may stay onsite in August if the price is right (AP holders) so will try again then. At least during our last trip (Jan) we could at least get through the area a little easier, though it was packed. Dueling dragons' wait time was 5 minutes, so DH did ride that again -- I know, it has a new name, whatever, same ride.....just like unicorn.

Sorry for the mix-up! It is May 8! I don't know what I was thinking!

Let me also add that we will get to the park before opening and will probably be there until closing (we are taking a one year old so there might be a hotel nap in the middle of the day.. depending on if he needs it or not). Our group will also consist of two other children ages 12 and 8. I just don't know if I can justify spending $300 for FOTL access.
