crowds in may

DF and I are contemplating a may wedding or october for 2008. I was wondering for any of you that have been in October, what are the crowd levels like throughout the month of may. We went the first week of march this year and it was wonderful! I have also been in late july early august and the crowds were bearable but it was so hot, and no wait was less than an hour. TIA for all your help!
