Crowds in March?

Hey all -

I need some advice! We're tentatively planning a trip 3/17 - 3/22 BUT are wondering what you all think the crowds will be like? DH is a crowd-a-phobe. I know it will be more than when we've gone before (late Sep and early Feb), but am hoping it will be just before the spring break rush. I looked at the MK hours on the WDW website and these dates are before the dates with the longest hours, so am hoping this backs up my theory...opinions??

Thanks!!

I've never toured WDW during that time frame but I'll bump this back to page one for you. I'm sure our veterans can offer you some excellent advice.

We're planning to go the same week and from what I've seen, it looks like the park hours are extended for this week and the following one.

I'm not too crazy about crowds myself, and this is the third time we are going during March. It's more crowded than the off-season, but I only recall MK as being a real zoo at times. Going early to the parks and using fast pass helps. We like this time of year because it works well with the kids' schedules (though they do not officially have spring break), the weather is reliable enough to plan at least a few days for swimming, and the extended hours for the parks usually gives us more of a selection of when we can attend fireworks shows and nighttime parades.

We cannot change our reservations at this point. But if I could, I would probably go at the end of March or the week or two prior to Easter weeks (the weeks before and after Easter).

You should at least try it out once. I know that some of the worst crowds we experienced were actually during off-season times when SpectroMagic was running only once the entire week!

HTH!

I would start looking for the crowds to increase starting Saturday March the 13th. The 12th is when most schools close for spring break.

We will be returning to WDW on 3/17 (thru 3/20). We went to the MK on this same Thursday last year (after our 4 night Wonder cruise). The park was very crowded. Orlando also sent a high temperature record that day!

The crowds seemed to thin out around 5 pm. Some school systems around the country are on "spring break" this week in March each year.

It looks like you'll be there durning spring break which can get pretty crowed. We originally had a trip book last year at that time and change it to May because when we called to get PS everything was booked soiled and the CM told us its a very crowed time to come.

Thanks for the responses! I was hoping we'd be just before spring breaks start...the breaks I knew of were in St. Louis the following week, Indianapolis the first week in April, and Tampa the last week of March so I thought I had it covered - ha ha! Thanks for clueing me in! I think we'll change the dates, as it doesn't sound as if it'd be a fun time for DH...
