We will be in LA in March and plan to take our boys to Disneyland. I was wondering how crowded it will be the monday/tuesday before Good Friday. I know that most west coast schools are off the next week or in April. Thanks.

Most of the AZ schools will be out and I would plan on heavy crowds that week.

We're going from the 1st to the 10th of March, I'm hoping that there will be less crowds then usual, but I'm also expecting it to rain the whole time...
I'm not sure exactly how this will turn out though.

L.A. Unified School District (which is the largest in the state) has their Spring Recess the week of Good Friday: March 17-21, 2008. And that's not counting the other school districts and colleges which have Spring Break around that time. Also, Southern California Annual Passholders are blocked out both that week and the following, which means that Disney expects the parks to be extremely busy.

As for rain: who knows? Historically, March can be one of the wetter months -- but we haven't had substantial rain in SoCal in so long, I've kinda forgotten what it's like. This past season (July 06 - June 07) has been the driest on record, with only about 3" of rain falling over the course of the entire year....

Orange County schools are split among the week before and the week after Easter for their break which is likely why the blackout dates for the socal passes cover both weeks. A lot of schools in other parts of the country though don't have their breaks in conjunction with Easter anymore and they take it in April. I think from Mar 15-April 15 there will be crowds no matter when you go, but the heaviest will be the last 2 weeks of March. If you go the dates you are looking at, the crowds will just be arriving and there won't be much overlap so you might get lucky and find it not to be as bad as later in the week would be.

This past March we had a mini heat wave, no rain. Our weather is insanely unpredictable, but I say it's safe to bet there will not be much rain, if any. The weather center has already predicted another drier that normal year for us.
