Wondering what it will be like. I've only been in peak seasons before. Will there be a noticable difference?

TIA!

Hey Katie

We like going in sept because it isn’t too crowded. I think you will see a difference.
Last time I went I did not wait long then 10-15mins for rides it was great. Have A great time.:D

It will be night and day. I think you will not ever want to go back at peak season again. While you do get disappointment by early closings and less frequent fireworks, etc. You will walk up to every ride. The pool at your hotel will actually have a chair to sit in. And it is pleasurably quiet in the parks. It's actually a nice change to hear the background music, get in a line of only two or three for chicken fingers and have a number or curb seats to choose from for the parade. We are dreading the day our DD is old enough for school. That means it's peak season trips for us from then on.

Enjoy the silence!

Thanks for posting that! I was wondering, too. I remember way back when I went growing up, our parents always pulled us out of school for the whole month of October (still can't believe they did that - although it had no adverse effect on me or my sister) - only MK was there then, though.

We're pulling the kids out (1st, 2nd and 4th grade), but because of teacher planning days, they'll "only" miss 3 days. I never thought I would pull them out of school (I used to teach 4th grade), but, I don't think we could have afforded to go otherwise. I've downloaded the journal and we'll make sure they do some reading, etc. So, hopefully, it won't be too bad.

My family went in late September last year (and going in mid Sept this year) and find the crowds to be just fine. It is a considerable difference from summer, I guess where it is the beginning of the school year for most states. Once you go in the off-season, you will never want to go in summer again.

we were there last year the last week of sept. we usually go late oct, but had to change our plans.. let's put it this way, i have never been able to just walk on any ride that we wanted to. Epcot's parking lot was sooo empty, that i the middle of the day, we got to park in the front row.. the parks were empty!! i would change our plans to sept every year, but we go for our anniversary which is in oct. the only thing i noticed that was different was there were more showers than we were used to. but other than that, sept is an awesome time to go!!

Here is the scoop on September, generally its the best month for crowds. Its still very crowded early until after the week of Labor day. Then it drops off greatly from the summer crowds. It will slowly pick up (all things are relative, I mean in comparison to the summer crowds) to the end of the month.

From many many years I have learned to really enjoy September as a month to pack in as many trips to WDW as my wife and family will allow me.

hmmm - that's showing some pretty long wait times for September in comparison to other times of year.

I would not have expected that. Oh well.
