We're thinking of doing the 1st week in WDW in June of 08. What are the crowds like then? How would they compare to 1st week of May? We've never gone in summer or holiday, except Jersey week, so we can't imagine what peak times are like . Ds will be in 5th grade and it's probably the last time he will be able to miss a week of school. I figured they're doing a lot less when the school year starts winding down but I think kids in the South are already done school.
So is early June just as crowded as late June?
TIA!!:goodvibes

Early June is a bit more crowded that early May, because a lot of schools are out for the year. We usually go mid to late-June and crowds are picking up at that point. The first week of June sometimes coincides with Memorial Day weekend, but I don't believe that is the case next year. I think you will find the crowds are manageable in early June, but you might stand in line for a bit for the most popular attractions.

Seems like we're all from the same neck of the woods!

We'll be in Orlando June 6-9 this year. I can tell you about the crowds when I get back. Gay Days is normally the first weekend in June, so I'm sure that weekend will be very crowded.

If Disney does what it's doing this year then it's going to be even more crowded b/c they are having Gay Days and the first weekend for Star Wars weekends at the same time the first weekend of June. Unfortunately, that's the only weekend my DH and I can make it to Star Wars Weekends. It's going to be packed and we're having to stay off-site. It should be an interesting adventure.

Yes, it is a small world after all. ;) :rotfl2:

Thanks for the advice everyone! I think we'll stick to May. We've done the 1st week of May twice and both times we had awesome weather and it wasn't too crowded. :cloud9: Maybe try 2nd or 3rd week in May? Homework these days is a bare minimum so it makes me want to go to WDW!!
