Crowds in December?

We will be visiting WDW around the second week of December. How are the crowds around this time? I've visited this summer, in the spring (was 3 or 4 so I don't remember much), and in the fall but back in '96, so again, I don't remember much. How are the crowds compared to the summer? Should I expect long waits? Will I need Fastpass?
Also, what is the weather like at that time? Short worthy or would pants be the better bet?

DW and I will be there 12/12/ - 12/16 and everything I've read on the DIS Boards points to low crowds and either hot, warm or cold weather but I told my DW I'm wearing shorts no matter what!!!!!!!!!
