Sorry, i know this has been asked alot , but couldn't get the search working. we will be heading down the sunday after thanksgiving for five nights. when can we expect the thanksgiving crowd to thin? hoping for those light early dec. crowds i've heard about. thanks.

I think the T-Giving crowds will be heading home at the time you arrive but I'm no expert on that. I have been going at this time for the past 3 years and I enjoyed myself. With all of the talk about this being a good time to go, I think more people head down and thus, the crowds are probably a bit larger than in year past. BUT, it's a great time and even though the weekends can be hectic, I have never had a problem with horrible crowds and the lines for the major attractions usually aren't that bad. Since you will be there just during the week, I think you'll be fine.

A couple of years back, I was able to stay on Splash Mt. for a 2nd ride without having to get off due to there being absolutely nobody in line when we came back into the station from our first ride on it. And that was on a Saturday around noon.

A kid said, it should be great. I'm hoping so, I'll be coming the same day you are. This is the 5th year at this time for me and it is always great. I have read about crowds being up this year (they needed that) so not sure exactly how it will be, but I can say for sure, it will be less than the week of Thanksgiving and the weeks close to Christmas. Enjoy, hope to see you there, wear your lime green. :wave2:

We thought the 1st week of December crowds were a little heavy through the first weekend of December last year (12/7). Granted, this still wasn't considered a big crowd in relative terms - especially to crowd levels Thanksgiving weekend. Maybe the combination of the late Thanksgiving (28th last year, 27th this year - will be moving earlier into November in the next few years) and the internet get togethers are bumping the crowd levels up.

But we actually shifted our trip this year to the second week of December to hope some more people clear out before we get there.

Crowds in early December are definitely lighter than the week of Thanksgiving and during Christmas. Crowds may be up this year over past years, but you couldn't pick a better time to go crowd-wise. Hopefully the weather will hold out.

My family will be heading down the Sunday after Thanksgiving also. We are staying at the Dolphin. This is our first time staying in the park. We usually rent a house. I can't wait!
