I'm going to Disney May 3-8th and wondering how bad are the crowds during this time?

Well, since my family's dates are overlapping yours, I think you will find the crowd-- at least our contribution to it-- unruly, loud, impatient, and hard-drinking.

Just kidding. I noticed someone linked to the crowd calendar, so that's good. There is a Run Disney event on May 3, and I don't know how much impact that will have, but my daughter and I have visited the 2nd week of May for the past two years (Mother's Day) and found the crowds moderate and manageable. All the usual suggestions apply. Have fun!

^ Yep, that's the place to look. I will be there 7 - 12 and Easy has that at 5-6, which is moderate crowds. Be sure to pay attention to the Recommended Park for the day, as the day may be a 5 overall, but the most recommended park might be a 2 or 3, while the not-recommended parks might be even higher.

If they do have a big grand opening for the Mine Train in early May, that could certainly boost crowds higher than normal. Especially on the weekends.

I do hope they open the Mine Train before may... I really want to ride it. Also I read that MK is open till 1am on the Sunday night to the next day. Also that calendar doesn't really tell you the crowds or perhaps i' don't understand it.

Crowd calendars can be kind of daunting at first glance, but they're actually really easy once you get the hang of it! The first line with the $$ in it tells you what season it is (IE: how much you're going to be paying for your room.) The next line are the average high/low temps and the percentage of the chance of rainfall.

The 3rd line is the crowd levels, on a scale from 1-10 (1 being the lowest, 10 the highest.)

Oh, and yes, as PP said, the Mine Train opening could certainly boost crowds. But we are planning on just rolling with it . . .

i'm curious about something...ill be there the last week of may and the crowds are moderate to high. Is the number on the calendar for all four parks or just the park that's "green"? I've only ever been in October, so I am a little nervous it will be super crowded. We do plan to do all green days while we are there.

I'm also going in May, more towards the end of the month, and I'm really hoping the crowds won't be that bad :guilty:

erstand it that is for WDW as a whole. THe Level X crowd will disperse to all areas. The recommended park is where the lowest percentage will go, the non-recemmended park is where the highest percentage will.
