Crowds, early May?

How crowded can I expect DL to be during the first week of May? At the Disney website it appears that there are no rooms available at the GC during that week, I thought early May was a slow time at DL.
Any thoughts? We really want to go, but want to avoid huge crowds.

The TOT is opening on May 5th....that is why there are no rooms at the inn! I think that DLR will be PACKED for a couple of weeks with all the local APers trying out the new attraction! Good luck!

traditionally that would have been a great time to visit with low crowds but, with the opening of TOT.... all that changes. I think locals will come out for the event. It could be very crowded

that's when we are going too. I just plan to stay far away from TOT as possible.

I am surprised. Haven't there been "soft" openings for TOT? I would have thought any local who wanted to could get on well before the hard open date.

From what I've read looks like there 'might' be some soft openings the end of April - but a lot of the dates are for ticketed CM's only. Even with the soft openings I would expect it to be pretty crowded that first few weeks.
