crowds during marathon week

Just curious---we usually go in late March and actually survived 4th of July week this past year. We plan to arrive January 6th and leave Jan. 12th. the marathon is the 11th---How are the crowds during this time--- do I have to plan out priority seatings etc as much as I do during spring break--- How is the weather in early Jan??? THanks so much!

The runners start coming in on Friday, but they don't impact the crowd levels at the parks too much - after all they are in training!!!! I'd make a few PS's over the weekend to be on the safe side.

Weather is hit or miss. Last time we went in January we swam every day and it did not rain once! Some folks on the boards said that last January had a few bad cold snaps, where mittens were needed!

Hope we have the swimmable weather this year, but if not, we'll still have fun. We'll be arriving a few days after you leave. Don't eat all the Mickey Bars!
