Crowds during CP?

From what time to what time should main street be avoided? Remind me when CP starts? We plan to be in the park sunday, but will just avoid the area.

It will be more crowded than normal all day. But the worst will be from 330p -9pm. The processionals are at 530P and 745P. The 530p gets out at about 630p, and you have everyone lining the street trying to get a spot for the second show, plus all the people leaving. Can be a nightmare. But, once you are past Coke Corner, it really lightens up.

I had a six week old baby at the time so everything may have seemed worse.......I was crazy to go with a baby that young!

They had the Main Street bypass open last time we were there during CP. We were seeing Fantasmic so not watching the CP, so were really happy to have an uncrowded place to exit the park. It was an oh so welcome relief to see it open.

I've been to busy with other things to spend too much time planning upcoming Disneyland trip Dec 3 to Dec 6, so didn't realize CP would be happening on the days I'm there. To top it off, Fantasmic! only playing on Dec 3 while I'm there. Won't be at the park for rope drop on Dec 3, I'm assuming by lunch FP will be gone for both shows. Would that be accurate? Obviously no dinning packages available for BB. Was able to snag Hungry Bear dinning package at 8:30pm, which I assume would be for 2nd showing. Is this the best way for me to ensure I get to see it? Also will CP make it crazy crazy at Disneyland, like closing gates earlier?

So how was it doing Fantasmic! on the CP night? We were planning on staying for fireworks that night too.... This upcoming Sunday..just now trying to figure out a better game plan for the weekend due to the CP
