I am a WDW veteran but don't know much about Universal, so I appreciate any advice. We are scheduled to go on a Disney cruise departing on October 25. We are thinking about going to Universal on October 24 and again on October 29 or 31. We definitely don't want to go to Horror Nights. We have 2 small children. What will it be like at Universal during the day? We won't be staying onsite, since we are DVC owners and want to use our points. Thanks.

The crowds aren't bad during the day but towards the afternoons, you will definately notice more people at the Studios. Remember the Studios will close at 5pm on HHN nights so you might want to move over to IOA during those afternoons to avoid the crowds.

How long does IOA stay open? Do people dress up for HHN? My smallest one is afraid of people in costumes. I am starting to think maybe we should go to Sea World instead.

Sea World is much better for little ones and the Halloween party is included with the park admission. Universal does not allow any costumes for HHN. IOA stays open until 7pm on HHN nights.

Hi! Are you sailing on the Wonder on the 25th? If so we might be going on the same cruise! If you are come join our roll call thread... http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1989552

And I agree with the others, you should avoid HHN. It is quite scary and can get very crowded. Have you all considered the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom? We did that one year, it was fun and perfect for the kids!
