Crowds BEFORE the 4th of July

Hey All!

We have two sets of travel date we are working with right now, one starts in late June and ends on July 4, and the other is in the end of July.

While we would prefer to go at the end of July, Codes aren't out for then yet, so we won't go if the codes are as good or better than our first dates.

My real question is, how are the crowds at the park BEFORE the 4th of July? We'll be driving all day on the 4th, so parks ON the 4th won't be a problem, but I was wondering if they would be swamped the whole week before (the 4th is on a Friday). We know we are looking at INSANE heat with either of our travel dates, but since we are staying on property, we'll love being able to take a midday break. Just curious about the crowds. They were, honestly, pretty nonexistant at the end of July last year, and we really don't want to go and spend all of our time packed into parks like sardines.

Gping to give you a bump here, as I too would like to know..I've always gone in April or October, never been in the summer months before.. Would love to know what we should be expecting.
Planning the same last week in June, before heading home on the 4th!

It's been our experience that the crowds are more abundant prior to July 4th.

I believe a lot of people head for WDW as soon as school lets out. Therefore the 2-4th weeks of June are usually crowded. I think a lot of people fear 4th of July at Disney and therefore it's not so bad.

This has been our experience. We are heading to Disney again this year, after the 4th. Also, the Value Season kicks in on the deluxe resorts on the 4th!

Last year wasn't bad IMHO before or after the 4th so we're going back this year. We went from June 28th thru July 8th. MK on the 4th was crowded but not as bad as anticipated.
