Crowds at MNSSHP in September?

We will be at Disney last week of September and are considering trying the September 29 MNSSHP. Can anyone who has been there that time of year let me know how the crowds have been? I assume September will have light crowds for a Halloween party but then again, it is on a Friday. I have seen some comments on the boards that even the candy lines can be very long but these comments were based on the parties in October.

I went to the MVMCP in December 2004 and it was sold out. The crowds were, in my opinion, too large for the extra cost involved. We had waited in line for the Buzz ride less than 10 minutes that day. That evening the wait was 45 minutes. This was our experience for every ride. The parade was great and fireworks fantastic but it definitely didn’t live up to all the “small crowd” hype.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

We went to MNSSHP last year at the end of September and the lines were not bad. We did the party at the end of the week that we were there and did notice an increase in crowds as we approached October and the beginning of F&W but I don't think we waited in line for a ride for more than 15 minutes, if that. Character lines were about 10-15 minutes as well, and most candy lines (although they looked long) took about 5 minutes. It is a great time to go! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: I already bought and received my tickets for MNSSHP for September 22. Glad to know the crowds were not too bad last year! Already started fixing up my costume. We're mostly going for the parade and characters and if we get to do a few rides in between, well, why not?!?!?? :thumbsup2 frndofpooh: Which charaters did you end up seing last year? THANKS !

We have also gone in September (I'm pretty sure it was a friday..) and the crowds were very light. We were mostly interested in the candy- (really, where else can full grown adults go trick-or-treating?!!) and the shows, but we also rode several rides with no wait, and saw many characters.
Jozymouse, I remember seeing TONS of characters. They had all the regulars out on Main Street in Halloween costumes, like Mickey, Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Pluto, Goofy, ect. Then further in we saw Timon and Terk, Baloo, Snow White and ALL seven dwarfs, Tweedle Dum and Dee, the White Rabbit and some others, plus we saw lots of villains, like the witch from Snow White, Cruella, Jafar, ect. You'll see them everywhere!

scrapbookingpro: Was their a schedule so you knew which charatcer was where or you just bumped into them? I DO need to get our pic taken with the 7 dwarfs!!!! I have them individually, but not all together! WOW! Thank you!!!!!

Well, we just found them all by chance while running around looking for candy ;) I don't think their scheduals were posted, but I'm sure you could ask an entertainment CM and they could tell you.
I know, seeing all the dwarfs together with snow white was awesome!! :cool1:

We went last Sept. on a Friday night, maybe the 30th. The crowds were not too bad at all. I think we had to wait awhile for Space Mtn., but not for other rides. We did not go into Fantasy Land, my kids think they are too big for it now. The lines for candy were not long, and we found a place to watch the fireworks at the last minute. It was better, in my opinion, than the times that we have attended MNSSHP in the middle of October.

Thanks everyone for the input. You have convinced me to give it a try. I only wish the party was at the beginning of the week so that we could eat the candy for breakfast all week long. That could supplement the free lunches and dinner for the dining package and I would be all set.
