My sister and 6 year old niece are coming to visit me in Orlando on the 5th of June. I have heard that the LEAST crowded day for a visit to Magic Kingdom is Sunday (6/6). Is that true?

We are also open to Monday (6/7) and Tuesday(6/8) if they will have smaller crowds.

Finally, I know they would really like the nighttime there, plus the sun is so hot - I figured we'd head over there around 3PM (they are open until 10PM) and that way we could see the fireworks. Is that a good idea?

We are not concerned with "doing everything" - rather just having a nice, leisurely time and getting to ride some of the better rides without much wait and just enjoy the park...

Thanks for any advice!
Dominic

We usually avoid MK on weekends when we are there as I have read it tends to be more crowded (we normally go during the first 2 weeks in June). Sunday is one of the EMH days for MK so that can also increase crowd levels. We plan on visiting MK on Tuesday--it is open until 11 pm and there are two Spectros that night.

corpkid, this info should be helpful but it is not necessarily the norm:

Busiest Days At The Parks

Sunday - Magic Kingdom
Monday - Animal Kingdom
Tuesday - Disney-MGM Studios
Wednesday - Epcot
Thursday - Magic Kingdom
Friday - Animal Kingdom

Since Sunday is Early Entry day at Magic Kingdom, your best bet is be there when it opens. It doesn't look like you will be staying at a DIsney resort so you actually will be getting in an hour later than the resort guests. The crowds will build as the day goes on, so my advice is to avoid MK on Sunday and go on a day that MK is not the early entry park.

I've also read/experienced large crowds at MK on weekend days, Extra Magic Hours days (including Sundays), & Mondays are purportedly big crowds because a lot of people start their vacations on Mondays & their children want to hit the MK first. Tuesday might be best.

I've read that historically Tues. is a good day for MK. The weekend and Mon are supposed to be more crowded. So, I would choose Tues. for lightest crowd (is that an occurrance at WDW in the summer??)
