Hiya All

I arrive at WDW the day after thanks giving, I was just wondering what the parks will be like (granted we dont land till 3pm)

Will it be crowed during my visit? I am there from the 26th november to the 12th december.

thanx anna

We were there last year for Thanksgiving and it is crowded. There is a tendency to make a long weekend of the holiday - the day after (Friday) is one of the busiest shopping days of the year for instance.

The following week things should quieten down considerably and remain so for the rest of your holiday. On the plus side, the parks have longer opening hours (well they did last year) over the Thanksgiving holiday period.

You should see quite a contrast.

I've been twice at that time of the year. the first time we (accidently) went over Thanksgiving itself. The parks were very busy until the Monday and then quietened right down again. Once the crowds go after the weekend it is actually the quietest time of year and you can just walk on to all the rides.

The Christmas decorations will also be up which will make your holiday extra special!

And also one of the best - the bargins at 5.00am at the outlets are fantastic.

no...there is no "tendency" to make it a long weekend....it IS a long weekend......thanksgiving weekend is THE most highly traveled weekend of the entire year in the US....
and by the way, thanksgiving day is the best holiday of the year...
but that's for another thread....

yes, turkey day weekend will be crowded....and traveling that weekend is somewhat masochistic....
but once the weekend is over, it will be heavenly in WDW....the best time of the year to be there....the smallest crowds, plus xmas decorations....
be prepared for both warm and cold weather...you can have either, or both....(one year we had 80 degree weather....another year 40 degree weather and it dropped into the 30's at night).....it's more likely to be warmer than colder but be prepared....we've had to dress in parkas, mittens and hats some years...of course you can always buy clothes there...that's what we always do...

by the way, americans, who are generally friendly in any case, tend to be exceptionally friendly during holiday periods (like thanksgiving weekend).....

i wish we were going home for thanksgiving......we've only managed it a few times since re-locating overseas.....we most miss home on thanksgiving day.....the parades......the same movies year in and year out....and of course dinner to die for with all the family there....and my sister's turkey, stuffing and apple pie....yummmmmm.....
