Crowds after New Years?

We're booked on the Jan 5-8, 2017 sailing on the Magic out of Miami. I've never cruised out of Miami or at that time of year. Just wondering what others' experiences have been as far as crowds on the ship that time of year? Also wondering about rain/weather issues? Appreciate any insight you all have!

DCL will do what they have to to fill the rooms. Florida discounts, military etc. but that time of year you will probably see more couples than normal without kids. So that will mean less crowded. A little bit anyway

We did 3-6 January 2016 on the Magic out of Miami. It never felt crowded - except the corridor to the theater as it let out.

We sailed over New Year's 2015/2016 on the Magic. The weather was perfect: sunny and warm, but not too hot, the entire cruise and in Miami. No rain at any time. The ocean water at Castaway Cay was chilly (probably between 65 & 70 degrees) but not too cold to adjust to & enjoy swimming in.

It was a sold-out sailing, but there were no crowds to speak of, except during deck parties, but you would expect crowds then on any sailing. Not even deck parties had WDW-type crowds, though, because only a certain number of passengers can be on the ship. We always had space to move around, even during the New Year's countdown.
