I'm having to reschedule my oct trip due to work. Might be dec but if not, then March. If we go in march on a week that's not a generally a week off for public school kids, is it reasonable to expect lines for pre-school attractions to be manageable? Some weeks, mostly colleges will be on break, but those people won't be waiting for kid rides like our 4 yo wants. We plan to do two half days at mk. Thoughts?

Just because it's not spring break for non-college kids where you are, doesn't mean it isn't somewhere else in the country. Mid-march to mid-late-April tend to be busy with "spring break" crowds rotating in from all over.

I find the hotter months brings out the angrier riders... :P

Your problem with March is Spring Break and Easter. Early march is probably fine but the later you go the more crowded it'll get.

Easter is in April in 2017, but many schools aren't necessarily off at the same time Easter falls.

There is a month long brazilian holiday that usually brings out the groups in mass numbers. It was a little short this year from their sudden recession but if that ends it can be anyones guess what march will be like..

Also, pandora seems to be moving right along to me. I'm starting to wonder if we might be seeing that sooner than anyone is expecting.

- Our state colleges are all staggered off through the entire month of March & April. (one state over)
- Our public schools spring break have nothing to do with Easter, some in March and some in April.
- Families with preschoolers travel all weeks so yes, they would be there for the same reasons, to avoid spring breaks.

It really is hard anymore to predict the crowds from President's Day through the beginning of May. And assured if Disney sees a time frame with lulls they will be offering something to get folks there. #1 goal is no slow season.

Pick what works for you but if I had to go in March it would be the first week. I did that in 2015 and it worked well for me.

Everyone rides the kiddie rides so yeah expect lines. Teacups and the carousel usually have little wait other thant that everything will have a line.

our public schools do not even consider when Easter is in most school districts. We were off this last March the week of March 7th, and it has been as late as the 3rd week of March. I agree that the earlier in March the better, but by Mid-March, the crowds will be 7-9 levels most all days. But, the weather is nice, usually not too humid yet, and usually not too hot either. We have gone the last 4 times in March and have loved it.

Our school break has absolutely nothing to do with Easter. We always get Good Friday off, but our 'spring break' is the second week of April, regardless of Easter. Other districts in our immediate vicinity have the third week of April, again, regarless of Easter.

March is busy- expect lines all month. Parents pull their kids from school to visit WDW all the time now, so school vacation weeks aren't as important as they used to be. There are lots of kids at Disney 365 days a year.

The school district where I went to school (I'm still living in the same area but now in a different school district) and our Spring Break ALWAYS followed when St. Patrick's Day. This meant whatever day of the week the 17th of March fell meant that week was Spring Break. So if St. Patrick's day was a Sunday then March 11th-17th was Spring Break but if St. Patrick's day was a Monday then March 17th-23rd was Spring Break.

Easter never played a roll in school days off because you never got it off (I believe though you could take Good Friday off for religious reasons but your child would still have to make up tests, homeworks, etc that they missed from that day).

I would personally say the 1st week or so of March is likely better if thinking of just Spring Break though like others have mention tour groups from other countries impact WDW too around that time. Like other's have said approximately mid-March through mid-April is Spring Break time.
