Just wanted to see how the crowds were compared to last weekend (which was, I guess insanely...INSANE!)

Any updates would be appreciated!:flower3:

I'm curious too. I fly in tomorrow for business meetings on Mon/Tue and wanted to go to DL Sunday. Hopefully it won't be too bad.

Last night, Friday, the park was very crowded. It was reported on 2 other Fan Sites that Disneyland closed the front gates to admission, though I personally do not know this to be true.

I was so suprised how crowded it was last night, especially since there's no holdiay this weekend like last weekend. I was on Ball Rd. & traffic was backed up on the bridge. It was crazy! And there were 3 shows of Fantasmic!

oh goodness, three showings!!

That's horrific!

I'm just monitoring crowds for our trip next weekend...I was really hoping the crowds were because of the holiday weekend, but apparently not!

Crowds will be high this weekend (through the 18th) since a lot of Arizona and Utah schools have Fall Break. It has nothing to do with Columbus Day around here, since my kids don't even get that day off of school. :confused3

We were there last night. The daytime was very hot but manageable crowds but around 5 or 6 p.m. it started to get PACKED. As late as 8:30 p.m. there was an enormous wait to get through security outside, and people were still coming into the parking lot at 8:45 with a large tram line at the parking garage (we left at that time, so we saw those people, including a lot of people taking very young children into the park at that hour, which surprised me a bit). I can confirm a third showing of Fantasmic was announced for 11:30 p.m.

Well I'm really hoping crowds will die down..

Does anyone know if space mountain will return back to 'normal', as soon as the Christmas season comes in??

We were there today from 8am to 2pm and the crowds didn't seem too terribly bad. I mean, it's saturday so it's going to be busy but I didn't feel like it was awful. Of course we left at 2 so maybe we left before it got crazy. We didn't have to wait long to get into the parking stucture (at opening) and there was no sign about APs needing hand stamps which I know they put out when it gets really crowded. We were there with DS who can't go on the big rides so I don't know how long those waits were (except I know space was 70 minutes around 11am and it was 40 mintues at 8:30am). But we went on 9 rides plus waited in line at city hall plus had a nice sit down lunch and we stopped for a snack in the morning so I felt like we were able to accomplish a lot.

Yes, it is scheduled to remove the holiday overlay on Nov. 2nd. Luckily it will only be down for the day.

Yeah, it wasn't bad at all. I hear it's been worse at night though but we don't usually stay there very late. But the key is to get there at opening and really use the FPs. Have a great trip!

It is true that some Utah and Arizona schools are out this weekend, but this doesn't sound like how I visit the park as an out of towner. I would have expected it to be busier all day, possibly getting less crowded late.

One thing that fascinates me is how people have different perceptions of crowd levels. We were there Wed - Fri...I thought Thursday afternoon and into the evening were absolutely PACKED. I mean, there were people sitting out their spots for fireworks HOURSSSSSS in advance of the show. At show time, the hub and all of Main Street were jammed packed with people. Space Mtn was down Thurs morning and evening as was the Matterhorn...really frustrating.

I cannot stress enough to be in the turnstile lines before opening -- the amount you can accomplish in that first hour or two is soooo worth having to get up early. We went to bed so late on Thursday. When that alarm went off at 6am Friday morning I wasn't sure I could drag myself out of bed and get our family out the door in time for the 7am morning magic, but I am sooooo glad we did! We were able to walk on so many rides during that hour including Space Mtn and back to back rides on the Matterhorn followed by walk ons at Peter Pan, Toads and Dumbo before heading over to HM and Splash. :thumbsup2 You will never regret arriving early!

We hopped over to DCA around 9:30, went on Soarin' which turned out to be a mistake because it is such a slowwwwwww loading ride and we missed rope drop and our chance to "walk with a purpose to TSM". By the time we got there, right after opening, the line was all the way back to the bridge.:scared1:

We had a good trip, but we thought the crowds were huge and the sweltering temps didn't help things at all. Again, my best advice is to go EARLY EARLY EARLY -- you'll be so happy you did!:woohoo:

Just got back from 3 days at disney, 14th, 15th, 16th. Wednesday and Thursday the crowds werer larger than I had hoped for but with some planning we still felt like we accomplished a lot. Friday however was a complete mess. We got fast passes for space mountain at about 10am and the return time was for after 4pm already. The crowds swelled more and more as the day went on. I thought that maybe there would be a drop off around 10pm so me and my 6 year old ventrued back in. Big mistake. We fought a constant flow of one way traffic all the way to thunder mountain only to see a huge line. Fantasmic had just finished and the fireworks had just begun. We waited until the fireworks were over and made our way over to fantasy land. Evidently they close those rides plus the mattehorn during the fireworks but I thought they would open them right back up. I guess for some reason they wait 15 or 20 minutes. There was already a line for peter pan outside the roped off area. Went over to small world, same thing, huge line outside the roped area. Went over to the mattehorn and decided to get in the line that wrapped nearly all the way around the mountain. Heard some guy saying that there was a 130 minute wait for space mountain. Can't confirm this but based on everything I'd seen I wouldn't question it. The park was so packed I really couldn't believe that this was the happiest place on earth. Very dissapointing. I was glad that it was our last day and not our first. I one point earlier in the day I stood in line for over 1/2 an hour just to place a food order. Everywhere we went there was a line to wait in. For comparison, we went to disney over easter weekend 2009 and never saw crowds like we did on Friday. I'll never go during a holiday period again. Doesn't seem like the economy is that bad based on Disney crowd levels. Anyway, maybe friday was a fluke with the good weather ect... For what it's worth we did see quite a few arizona and utah license plates. Utah stay home! LOL Hope everyone's trip is a good one. Just go expecting crowds and long lines.

So I'm a little concerned. DH and I are flying in on Saturday for a quick weekend trip, we should get to the park around noon- and DH has to renew his annual pass (we should have done this online, but I'm thinking it may be too late now).

So if we are "generous" with our wait time, that would mean probably entering the park around 1pm. I'm hoping we can still get in? We have a lunch PR at 3pm at Cafe Orleans, and then the Happiest Haunts Tour (I guess they have to let us in with the tour group huh?) at 4:45pm. Boy am I glad I booked that, so we have admission to 4 of our favorite rides + plus priority seating for the fireworks display.

An 11:30 Fantasmic would be awesome though :cool1:
