Crowd size on July Fourth?

A couple friends of mine and I were thinking of dropping by DL on July Fourth.

Is the crowd size usually really large because it's a holiday, or smaller because it's so hot?

I have been there several times and no matter how hot it will be insane. Especially in the later afternoon when the locals come out too. If you are there for fireworks we waited over 2 hours, maybe close to 3, for a prime spot near the hub. You will not be able to move...there will be that many people. But if you dont mind heat and crowds go...have fun

Lol, thats what I was thinking.

I've always had good luck with June, so maybe convincing her of May would work.

In 2006 we found the 4th of July the quietest day of our stay.... It was midweek which may have an affect, but I feel it it is due to most of the APs being blacked out that day. We had an awesome day with low to no wait times....
