Heading down December 19(Thurs.) to the 22nd (Sun.) any experience or guesses on crowd levels? We traditionally go during February break, and the crowd levels are very manageable. Have also been in July with heavy crowds, but the onsite express also made this manageable.

I am excited to Universal all decked out for Christmas for the first time, but also very nervous about the crowd levels. My plan is to get up early and do what we want to and then relax at the HRH in the afternoon and maybe head back to the parks at night. Do you think I have to worry about making priority seatings? That is something we hate about Disney, we like to be more spur of the moment for eating plans.

Any thoughts would be great, just want to be prepared as possible. One thought, the AP rates were decent at the HRH so I was wondering if this was indicative of crowd levels! Thanks guys! Can't wait to get into the holiday spirit at one of my favorite places!

We will be there the same time at the HR .:goodvibes and we have never been there at this time before either so I am interested in the crowd levels to which is why I wanted to stay onsite and make use of the FOTL you get..CANT WAIT!!!

On the Monday we then head over to Disney for that whole hoilday week...pixiedust:

Getting closer to Christmas will bring higher crowds but since you staying onsite and are visiting before the holiday, you shouldn't have any issues. As far as dining goes, you can make reservations at opentable.com in advance or do priority seating when you arrive. Crowds shouldn't be too terribly bad but having reservations wouldn't hurt. If you wanted to walk up you might want to try and eat at off peak times to keep the waiting down.

Take advantage of your onsite benefits and the single rider lines...both will save you time.

We were there that week last year. It was manageable if you go early and then back again for the evening. The restaurants were pretty packed but we didn't have our heart set in a specific place and just kept trying til we found something without an awful wait. We usually sit down at city walk though.
