Crowd levels right now?

So, we will be at MK this Sunday and have a PPO BOG breakfast at 8am. Hoping that's the edge we need to bypass some crowds. I looked at waits last sunday AM around 9amand they were very low around Frontierland and Adventure Land (we have a FP+ for 7DMT) so we will not be with the pack at RD. Part of me hopes there's a drop off in crowds on Aug 1 as kids go back to school and the other part of me is like, BRACE YOURSELF!

We are conditioned to always expect crowds but I feel like when we go to WDW in the summer, we should at least get lower crowd levels to compensate with the heat and rain :laughing:

We will be in MK Sunday as well. I have already warned hubby the crowds will be insane compared to our first week of November trip last time. Thankfully it's just the two of us this time so we will do what we can with FPs and be okay if we don't get to do the extra headliners if we can't score a FP after our initial three are used. I figure if we expect crazy crowds and it ends up not being too bad it will just be a bonus. Heres hoping that it will be on the lower crowd level end though for all of us geing next week.

We will also be at MK on Sunday with a PPO breakfast at BOG - I got the FPs/times I wanted 60+ days ago so I was hoping that meant lighter crowds but I am preparing everyone for crazy crowds and leaving by 2pm for pool time, assuming no crazy storms, which also seems unlikely :(

I agree with this now that I experienced rain closing everything down for hours while we were there. We bailed one day and just went back to the resort. If the park was open late we could have gone back.

That is a problem that exists in the summer now with shorter hours. Rides go down and anytimes start killing all the other rides. From 7 to close can be unbearable as everyone now is trying to use up their anytimes before the place closes. Would love to see the 11 to midnight closes return. Well, for "free", anyway...

We are disney twins, we were also there in early November, I am going to miss that november weather :sad1: It was perfect temps but this time the bonus will be swimming. Have a great trip!!

I've got our pool time worked into everyday. We have a 2pm lunch at the Plaza, then head back to swim and plan to go back to MK around dinner time. Have a great trip!!

Are any of you that will be at MK Sunday considering EMM? I saw that it's available this Sunday AM, knowing the weather may be a grab bag part of me is considering doing it. We loved it the last time we did it and I think they've added more rides that the first/last time. Has anyone done EMM recently?

Since it's just hubby and I, I'm not doing EMM. We do have an 8:00 breakfast at Crystal Palace though. I promised hubby a more relaxed trip so we aren't doing any extra paid events. This way hubby still gets to bed earlier than normal on a Disney trip and we won't be up any earlier than we normal would be. Since we are early risers anyways, rope drops are at the perfect times for us and what we are used to. Anything earlier and hubby may revolt on me :rotfl2:

I'm going to be there this weekend also and I'm hoping it'll calm down a bit -- though I'm not counting on it. We're doing MK Saturday and AK and Epcot on Sunday, then EMM at Toy Story Land on Monday. I just booked fastpasses two weeks ago after we bridged to AP and I got pretty good ones at good times, so here's hoping!

You guys are scaring me. We get there on Sunday and I'm worried we didn't leave enough time to eat during our fast pass windows

I have never had any trouble getting additional FPs at MK, but it's possible we will add EMM this time given the reports here. Sunday will be our first day in MK, we are doing Epcot and AK twice each before that, I guess I'll judge based on crowds there, though I know that's not particularly accurate/transferable to other parks.

Several of the crowd websites (Kenny The Pirate) still indicate that by the middle of August, crowds will be moderate to low. I've seen no indication at least as yet that that will be proven accurate.

School does start though for a large part of the country mid-august, especially the south, so I do think it will get a bit better. Now will it be the same as last year though? That is the question. With the park hours being cut from last year I am starting to get a little nervous (we arrive on 8/16)

I've been here since 7/23 and crowds have been heavy everywhere I've been except for last Thursday at Epcot. It rained all day and the park felt empty.

I'm at Epcot today and it feels crowded.

All week I've been able to do everything I want multiple times through a combination of RD, FP (I only booked about 3 weeks ago), single rider lines, and hopping on a headliner at park closing.

Here now... we come every two years at nearly the same time, and the crowds themselves seem similar to what we've seen in the past.

However, we are having a heck of a time getting decent 4th FPs, which is very unusual for us. I'm so curious if others are experiencing the same thing or if I just have really bad luck this time.

If you have back to back FP's you will have time to eat. Just hit one FP at the beginning of the time window. Eat at a QS place, then use the second FP toward the end of your window. Gives you at least an hour to eat.

I'm there next week also, and hoping it's not too crazy. But it's been crazy the last several times I've been there, so not sure there's a quiet time anymore.

We go at various times of the year... we just returned from a trip last week. We found the crowds to be heavy. There were long waits for every major ride. We had a great strategy and managed to do most of what we wanted to do. I honestly don't think there is a low season anymore. Our thinking is that we are going to wait, so enjoy the time together and have a great time... we're in Disney. Enjoy your vacation.

Yep, us southerners start school early. I live in North Alabama and school starts here the 7th of August. Colleges start mid August.

February 2012 was the perfect visit. No magic band, no 60 day fast pass. Just get in the park and grab your daily fast passes. They weren't even stoping you coming back 3 hours past your fast pass window. I remember leaving a park and giving a random guest extra fast passes that we didn't use because we did rider swap so many times.

Looking at the wait times on the Disney app, it really doesn't look all that bad. Unless of course, they keep the wait time numbers lower than reality on it.

I was looking at the wait times posted on Touring Plans lines app today about 3 pm, and they looked scary.
