Thinking about planning our first trip to Disney land the 3rd week of june with 3 days - tuesday- thursday.

How would the crowds compared those days? Also any recomendations for Dinning. We love WDW but think that would be a good time for the boys to expericen the orginal.

Will probably be really crowded. DLR has some unusual trends that have created strange crowd patterns. The existence of one million AP holders will create large crowds in May and June to see the new World of Color show, among other things. Once the AP blackout goes into effect late June/early July the crowds will drop. For some background see:

How crowded is DL in June?

Also be aware of grad nights...

IMO June 14 & 15 (Mon. & Tues.) and June 21 & 22 (Mon. & Tues.) may be extra crowded because of the SoCal Select APers non-blackout dates.

I would visit June 16 - 19 (Wed. - Sat.) or June 23 - 26 (Wed. - Sat.), when the SoCal Select APs and SoCal APs are both blocked out.

[Edited To Add: For the above dates, there are Grad Nights on June 16, 17, and 24.]

Interesting stuff. Thinking of a summer vacation but was wondering when as well.

Maybe we should re think and plan for July or first week in August?

The older the kids get the harder it is to work around school..

I would go mid June after all the SoCal Aps are blocked out. Yes it will be busy, but August would be just as busy and even worse it'll be a lot hotter than in mid June. (Barring any strange heatwaves, in June that is...) Everything will be up and running.

We were thinking of a first week of June trip. We have never done a middle of the summer trip because of crowds. But now..... I'm wondering if we should go the second week of June when SoCal Aps are blocked.

We will definitely do midweek. We don't need to do a Friday unless all the night time entertainment is only on weekends. Anyone know about fireworks, Fantasmic schedules for June??? ONly on weekends or every night?

If you plan the day right, crowds should not be too much of an issue. But it all depends

When we were there this past June, they had a preview show of the new fireworks show Magical on June 11 -- but I assume that's because it was a new show and this was a VIP performance. I heard that others who went ealier in the month also managed to see unannounced trial runs of the show. With that said, when we were planning, everything was slated to be up and running as normal on the 15th and daily thereafter; but again, it was all up and running that particular weekend from the 11th. To be safe, I would plan to go from June 14 and stay through the weekend. If you go from June 14, everything should be running daily from that point forward...barring any last minute changes from Disney. Saturdays are DAP block out days, so Saturday is the new Sunday, and from past experience when I didn't have an AP, Saturdays were slower than many other days. So staying through the weekend can be a good thing. Plus Saturdays are MM days so you could get in early, FP everything, watch the shows you want and ride some more after the shows due to longer hours. On the higher capacity days, rides tend to break down more often, etc., so I would totally plan on staying longer if you can, because due to the crowd levels you'll get in less rides anyway (and then add to that ride closures for various reasons). HTH and have fun!
