We are going to WDW May 14th - 22nd. I noticed that the Unofficial Guide site has their prediction as being a 3 out of a possible 10. Tour Guide Mike has the entire month of May as being very busy. Which do you think is better informed? TGM? or Unofficial Guide. I like both and was suprised to see such a difference in their opinions.

This May is going to be VERY Busy! It's the official kick off of the "Happiest Celebration on Earth" so expect attendance levels to be up, especially for the first 3 weeks of the m onth.

UG is based on statistics from past years. TGM is based on his daily experience in the parks.

Based on our visit last year, I would put the middle of May as a probable 6....the crowds have been increasing during that time in recent years as the Flower and Garden festival increases in popularity. Early May, probably a 4; except this year with the DL 50th celebration kicking off May 5 (as I recall), and several new attractions opening, all past experience becomes moot. If I were you, I'd plan on the crowds being moderately heavy. JMHO :cool1:

Just my luck I guess. When we booked this trip we planned on very low attendance. We even took our girls out of school for the week to enjoy low crowd levels. Just my dumb luck to be going when it will be unusualyy busy. I wish I could reschedule, sadly we are locked in now. I would love to cancel and go another time of the year. I would rather wait and go later in the year than to fight heavy crowds in May! Boy am I bummed.

Sent you a PM!!!

Sorry you are feeling bummed... Remember, you are going to WDW!!! At a wonderful time of the year... Warm weather, not a lot of rain expected, etc...

Looking at your dates... The end of your trip does back up to the Memorial Day weekend. But, early in your trip you could really luck-out and see some more moderate crowds!!!

With the DIS, and UG, and TGM, you could use these planning tools to your advantage to hit the Parks and Attractions at the very best times during that early part of your trip, and have a really fantastic time!

:cool1:

Oh goodness, Im freaking out. We're going to be there May 12-21 and were expecting low crowds as well. We've always went in May and had no problems. Im also getting worried.

I've gone at various times in May and have always had a WONDERFUL time! The last 2 years we were there for the first few days in May and it was GREAT! Low crowds at WDW as well as Universal/IOA.About 4 years ago I was surprised that Memorial Day weekend was much less terrifying that I had imagined! :teeth: It was totally doable! :earsboy:

This year the first weekend being the big kick off for the Happiest Celebration on Earth...all that huppala going on then,I'm not sure it will keep the crowds up throughout the month.Alot of school's vacation still don't start until June despite what's going on at WDW!!! :earboy2: .I still think the crowds will be better than say, mid June, but busier than the past few years during May.

But really who knows!! :confused3
