Crowd level Mardi Gras week??

How bad are crowd levels on Mardi Gras week? We are looking at visitng after a DCL cruise, arriving Thurs after Mardi Gras and staying until Sunday. Just wantedto be prepared for crowd levels.

How bad are crowd levels on Mardi Gras week? We are looking at visitng after a DCL cruise, arriving Thurs after Mardi Gras and staying until Sunday. Just wantedto be prepared for crowd levels.

Since Mardi Gras festivities only happen at night, the crowd level won't increase until evening. During the day the crowds aren't bad right now but Spring Break is looming.

Depends really when you're going. If you're going to go Thursday, the crowds shouldn't be too bad. Friday, heavier, Saturday night expect insanity....although next week is Foreigner so who knows on that one.
Here are some tips on what's going to happen and how to handle it.
Sunday it could be busy...but again kind of a toss up. It's usually best to get there early.
*edit-Just re-read it...NEXT year for Mardi Gras....Well...next year Mardi Gras falls the Tuesday after Presidents day which is maddening. The following weekend, it's hard to tell. It all depends on who's playing that Saturday.
