Crowd level Jan 1 - Jan 6/06?

Just revamped Florida holiday this winter to include one week at WDW (Pop Century hopefully) . Can anyone please tell me what to expect in the way of crowds? We will be doing 3 theme parks ( half days, opening time until about 2 or 3 p.m) over 6 days (Jan 1-6). AK, studios and Epcot. I have not been to studios or epcot , therefore, not familiar with them. I will be on my own with my two children (ages 4 and 8).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Suzy,

Parks will be very crowded on January 1, and pretty crowded on the 2nd as well, since it will be a national holiday because New Year's Day will fall on Sunday. Once you get to Tuesday the 3rd crowds should drop off dramatically, and the rest of the week should be great. You're leaving before any of the Marathon/Half Marathon traffic disruptions so that won't be a factor.

Thanks for the info. Since Jan 1 and 2 will be very crowded, what park would you suggest might be the least crowded (MK, Epcot, or studios)? I will chose that park and do two half days at it first and then do the other two parks the rest of the holiday.

The only time we were at WDW (12/04) we were there the week before Christmas and felt that MK was much more crowded then AK.

They will all be crowded. IMO Epcot seems to distribute crowds the best so that you don't feel the squeeze as much.

We went Jan. 9-16 this year and it was wonderful! The crowds were practically nonexistent and we were able to do all the theme parks, with the exception of MK, in one day with no problem. We barely had to fast pass at all and I think the longest we waited in line might have been 15-20 minutes.

Weather was great too, nice days in the 70's and cooler nights, one day of rain and we braved that in ponchos no problem.

I know that's a little later than you are going but I would think you are still hitting it at a great time. Have fun!
