Crowd level in May?

We are wanting to go May 4th - May 11th & I was wondering what people's experience was with line waiting?

For our spring trip we usually visit in April but when we do travel in May (this year it's May 5-15) I have always found the wait times to be very bearable. It's not low season but not peak season either, and I believe Josh at EasyWDW is predicting a crowd level of 5 (out of 10) for that time frame this year. At a 5 I'm expecting to see wait times hovering anywhere from 10 minutes to 60+ for the most popular attractions (PP, TSM, etc).

We target low crowd times. We have no kids and a flexible place of work, so any day of the year is always game for us. We did April 20-27th and Nov 29-Dec 8 in 2013. This year May 3-11 and an October date yet to be named are in our sights.

So I'm not sure what the crowds are like, but from all the researching I've done, I think this should be one of the lower crowd levels of the year. Disney prices seem to be lower early May than at least 30 days in either direction, so, though that should draw some people, I would think that means Disney expects to have some issues filling rooms at that time of year.

That's when my mom and I used to go when I was in college and had just finished final exams, and it was the BEST time of year I've been to Disney in terms of crowds and weather. It's nice and warm, but not crazy hot/humid yet, and the parks were pretty empty (relatively speaking). If I weren't a teacher, I would totally still go that week. I'm sure it's slightly more crowded than say, Jan/Feb or September, but the weather in May is better/more predictable.

Crowds won't be too bad that week. Epcot may be more crowded on the weekends due to Flower and Garden Festival.

That's my favorite time to go! Crowds are what I consider extremely low. I think the longest line I saw the entire time (besides Soarin and TSM) was 45 minutes for Splash and BTM was closed that year for refurb.

Sadly we can't go in May this year!

A couple of years ago we went in early may (5-15) and loved it. The parks weren't overly crowded, yes there were crowds but it was manageable. We really liked going that time of year. This year we are going in May but not until the end of may (5/23-6/2) and I know that the crowds will be insane with Memorial Day weekend and all. We plan to not rush, go to RD, take midday breaks, and have a few down days to do non park things. Have a great time :goodvibes.

We have been this time of year and loved it. We really enjoyed the Flower and Garden Festival, found the crowds to be low, and the weather was warm, but not too hot. The crowds were comparable to our mid December trips and our last week of October trip. As the previous poster mentioned, the weekend at Epcot was a little more crowded than usual due to the Flower and Garden Festival. You may want to visit Epcot on the week days. Hope you have a great trip!

That is when I'm going too (may 5-10):cool1:

I'm pretty excited about 5's for crowd levels since the last time I went was Easter Week 2012.

And I didn't have any trouble getting any of the dining reservations I wanted (however I was not trying for BOG).

Bearable, but crowd levels seem to increase every year. This past year waits were 20-40 min for most attractions. Be prepared for high school seniors on school trips as well as hoards of day trippin' middle schoolers at Epcot on Fridays.

Weather is usually darn near perfect.
