My sister and I are planning to take the kids and we are looking at spring break (which I would like would be crowded) and sometime during the first couple weeks of June. Anyone have any guess what the crowds would be like at the beginning of June? Thanks!!

I took my family this year the first week of June, and it wasn't bad. Crowds were still managable. Longest wait was 45 minutes for Indy (we had fast passed it, and our wait was still 25 minutes)

The LA schools were not out yet, but we did see big groups of teens all in the same t-shirt, as in their field trip to Disneyland with their school.

Days were nice in a tank top, and then the evenings were cool. So much so that I had to buy a blanket for my 4 yr daughter for her stroller, and sweatshirts for us.

We went this last June first week and loved it! It was one of our best trips. :) the crowds were low the weather was wonderful, I like it cooler :)
The mornings are the best to me no matter what time of year. But these mornings were extra special. One morning I was able to eat breakfast at RBT take my coffee to go, hop on a jungle cruise enjoy my coffee :) ride Indy, then head back towards Main St. and say hello to Jerry the CM who was driving the omnibus across the street, and we could hear each other! All at a leisurly pace. The low crowds maintained the majority of the days till about 2.
Loved it :)

We were there this past June 11-16 and it was insanely busy! It was perfect weather, but the crowd levels were overwhelming! I literally saw adults jumping over babies in strollers to get to where they wanted to be faster because it was wall to wall people. It was due to all the SoCal Ap'ers who wanted to see Murphy the dragon in F! that was non-existent. It was not fun having to work around that kind of crowd. I was expecting low crowd levels because that's what everyone was posting it would be like. Everyone who posted on numerous threads I frequented prior to my trip would say stuff like, "Expect low crowds, and pleasant weather due to the June Gloom." Not! :lmao: The weather was great, that was true. The crowds were nuts, and I've been there during nuts times, like the last couple week before NYE, etc. This was just as bad as the last few days leading up to NYE.

I have been that time a few years and it was fine all but the year Nemo had opened. That year, it was insane since all the So. Cal Ap holders were wanting to ride that before they got blocked out.

This year as the above poster mentioned, the new dragon in Fantasmic and the new fireworks made a similar situation to what we had back in 2007 with So. Cal Ap Holders wanting to see the new stuff before they got blocked out.

As long as nothing big is just opening up, that time of year is generally pretty lmanageable. You see a ot of middle school groups touring. But So. Cal schools seem to go a bit later in June. You also may have grad nights where the park closes early.

But I like that time of year better than spring break and as a rule of thumb its not as crowded.

I've been reseaching (and researching and researching :rotfl:) for our trip from June 13th through June 19th. Some things you should be aware of:

1. Some of the LA area schools are out on the 10th, but the majority of them are out the 17th.

2. The blackout dates for the APs are Wednesday through Saturday (if I remember correctly, please double check yourself just to make sure) for the week of the 13th, but also the week of the 7th. Remember that APs are up at the end of the month!

3. Grad Nites! They're June 3, 10, 16, 17, and 24th. It goes from 11:59 to 6am, but I've been told that it could effect park hours and we might be booted earlier then is normal for the park at that time of the year.

Also remember that there is the new World of Color show that is supposed to open in the spring of 2010 so crowds could be like what the PP said, and CRAZY busy with people sitting and waiting...ALL DAY...to save their seats for the show. But, this wouldn't be such an issue during black out times. Hope this has helped!
