Crowd level end of August?

Who has actually gone the last week in August and can tell me how long lines are? I am splitting trip w/Disney and want to change to Universal resort just to get their "fast pass" for free. But, if it's not worth it I would rather stay at Disney and rent a car for 3 days.

Once Florida schools go back in around the 19th or so, crowds ease up, but not die down completely till after labor day.It will still be pretty busy till then

My YDS and I did a Mommy and me trip the last weekend of August through past Labor Day this past summer with a split stay at POP/PoR. It was the first time not staying onsite at Uni and we didn't regret it at all! Forbidden journey was 20 minutes, Gringotts 30. We rode transformers so many times (our first time through the non express line) and they let us just go through child swap again and again. Traffic was even light, like 22 min door to door.
