I just read of the 2003 NECA (National Electric Contractors Assoc.) in a magazine belonging to my Dad. Its' being held in Orlando 10/2-10/4. The article says they are expecting 8,000+ in attendance. It states: "Each full registrant will receive a ticket good for admission to EPCOT on 10/4."
How much crowd impact would something like this have on a park the size of EPCOT? In other words, is 8,000+ (and also, I guess you'd have to add family members who are coming along with the convention registrants) in addition to regular park attendance going to make EPCOT crowded?
We were planning on doing EPCOT in the late afternooon/evening that day.:(

Normally, I think that conventioneers just blend in with the crowd, but when all of them are going to the same park on the same day and there are EIGHT THOUSAND of them plus family members? Yeah, I think I'd skip Epcot that day. If you must go to Epcot on the Oct. 4th, try to find out what time of day the conventioneers are scheduled to arrive. They may have some sort of closing meeting as part of the convention. I like Epcot early in the a.m. anyway. You can do FW right at opening, and then go over to WS as soon as it opens. If it gets too packed, head over to MGM or go to the Boardwalk for lunch.

Epcot's capacity is around 75,000. Combine that with the fact that many of the convention people will not use the ticket and many others will not have family with them and I don't think you'll have the problems there you might anticipate.

I agree. with the amount of convention traffic that goes on normally you don't even notice them unless the are being marched in a group. Go, enjoy and don't overanalyze.
