Crowd difference between early and late August

We've been late August a few times and found the crowds not too bad (always stay off site, no express passes). How different will early August be crowd wise?

VERY different. Hotel prices tend to go way down the end of the month.

Early August is busier as pretty much all kids are still off on summer vacation. End of August, many kids have already gone back to school. Have a look at the crowd levels below for UO over this past August:

Early August is definitely busier, the locals all go back to school mid-late August. We always go then and enjoy the lower crowds

Once there, pick your date ranges, then you can pick individual parks (every park in Orlando and the 2 California Disneyland parks), and even more the individual rides to see what the wait times were (min and max) each hour throughout the day.
