Are they doing crowd control for Diagon Alley? Do you need to stand in line to get a return time?

We were there the past three days. The first day, they were giving out return tickets, but the second and third day, they were just letting people walk in. Maybe they were tired of wasting paper to print return times? The crowd level depends on what time of day you are there. The early morning and late evenings, it is not so crowded. Of course, in the early morning most are in line for Gringotts, so it is great to walk around and use your wand. If you go in the middle of the day, it is super packed. We could barely walk in there around noon today. We went our first night there and it was empty. We walked right into Ollivanders and my family and I were the only ones in the wand room.
