Crowd capacities at WDW

Seeing people mention MK closing at 10am on 12/25 due to crowds made me wonder. How many people does each park hold before they close the gates? Anyone know this useless information????

The people who know, ain't talking. Disney considers this type of information proprietary. But there have been mentions of as many as 100K people in MK on the busiest days. Gives me the hives just thinking about it.

The parks do tend to fill to capacity on xmas day, Thanks day and NYE. MK especially gets the most crowded and is the first to fill up everytime. One year we went and Main St was so bottlenecked that they were forced to open a path backstage behind the shops to get us out. For my parents who have never worked at Disney it was an experience they will not forget.

Also I can tell you from talking to park cms, the crowds make the guest less patient and more tempermental. So bring your patience and xmas cheer to get you thru the day.

I can assure you that Disney's idea of capacity and mine are very different. We have been in MK on days that they close the park because of capacity and it is miserable. Most fast passes are gone by noon and stand by can be over 2 hours. It is just not worth it to us. I don't see how they get by from a safety standpoint with what Disney thinks is filled to capacity.

100K? that is insane! I had seen numbers like 70-80 K at MK so I just wondered if anyone knew for sure.

I have only been there once when it was closed. It was one July 4th a few years ago. Total mayhem so we left and went shopping instead. We don't do the whole 4/7 thing anyway as we are not American. I do remember that this was before Fast Pass so you can just imagine the lines!

I'm going to avoid MK on Dec 25th, probably go to MGM or EPCOT and eat at one of the resorts.
